Very good hotel

The location was great. The bed was very comfortable and the interior decoration was very nice.

The breakfast, even though it was very extensive with a lot of variety, it was not so fresh. They were using the same stuff (i.e. cheese, bacon, sausages) for consecutive days until they were finished, even the salads that had to be more fresh. Also, the sheets on the bed were too narrow and couldn't cover the whole mattress and it was coming off from one side. The cover was narrow also. The shower was a bit uncomfortable as well because there was nowhere to hang the shower telephone and you had to hold it with one hand and wash only with the other. There was a shower head but if you didn't want to wet your hair you wouldn't want to use it. My room had only a window that was looking in a closed space, not outside to a view.

we are very please to stay in Balkan Hotel. The Hotel was at the opposite of Hotel Moskva therefore the location of the hotel was excellent and it was very close to Kneza Mihaila street. the breakfast was very good and our room was large enough. we stayed 4 people ( mom dad and 2 kids) in the same room and it was not uncomfortable. there was a king size bed and a sofa bed at the room and the room was separated with a wall which provides some privacy. The bathroom was also well-designed with both a shower and a bathtub. The view of our room was great because we were able to see Hotel Moskva and the street view from the windows of our room.

The first night the room was a bit cold, but ı guess we couldn't fine tunes the air condition. After the first night we did not experience any issues with the room temperature.

The main advantage of the hotel is its location. It is centrally located, within walking distance of many attractions and public transport stops. I stayed there in winter and the room was very warm. The bathroom facilities were in good condition, and everything necessary was provided.”

The breakfast is decent, fresh, but quite repetitive. The breakfast area smells strongly of cigarette smoke, as if you are having breakfast in a smoke-filled bar. Another downside is that music plays in the corridor constantly, 24/7, which is very irritating, especially at night. I asked the reception to turn it down, but they said they could not do that and that the music turns on automatically when someone enters the corridor. However, there is likely some kind of malfunction, because the music plays all night even when the corridor is empty. In addition, my room faced the inner courtyard, and on Friday there was a party in the neighboring building that lasted all night, which did not add to the comfort.

The hotel has a very convenient location in the center of Belgrade, making it easy to get around the city. The in-room environment was excellent: comfortable microclimate, well-functioning temperature control, good lighting, and truly impressive soundproofing — we could not hear our neighbors at all. Occasionally, there was some noise from cars outside, but it was minimal and did not bother us, even though we were staying with children. Our room had a bathtub, which was quite long and comfortable. It was especially pleasant to use in the evenings during the winter stay. The corridors deserve a special mention: they were impeccably clean, elegant, and even felt somewhat luxurious — noticeably more impressive than the rooms themselves.

Despite the availability of a luggage trolley, we never saw it in use, and no assistance with luggage was offered upon arrival. Drinking water in the room was not replenished; at the reception we were told that tap water in Belgrade is drinkable, which may be true but is still not ideal for a hotel of this level. Breakfast selection was somewhat limited, but the quality was good. Everything was well presented, there was plenty of staff, and items were consistently replenished.

Some staff needs proper training but great in everything else

Very well decorated and well equipped, excellent location and great value for money.

Some of the staff is not nice, the receptionist and the staff from restaurant (breakfast) had been great; but bar staff and cleaning staff was extremely incompetent, the bar staff act as if they didn’t want us there when we attended. Room cleaning not replenish toiletries daily, we had to call daily down to reception to ask for consumables to be replace daily, which is substandard. Also never get to use the sauna, tried wandered down and check out the facility, everything was shut and no one available to ask for help.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Belgrade

Love hotel Balkan! Unbeatable location, lovely staff and beautiful rooms. I got a free upgrade from the lovely hotel manager. Breakfast was nice variety, though breakfast room was super hectic when I got there. There were few free tables , but I couldn’t sit as they were still packed with used plates and stuff. I waited for a while for someone from staff to come and clean them up. Other than that , everything was great!

Location was perfect Staff really polite and helpful The room includes most necessary items even though it’s small for someone with large luggage Renovated looks good

Was not the cleanest. The room carpet was dirty (like all hotel carpets to be fair). And the decorative pillows were stained with food, obviously are not being cleaned or changed. Also breakfast was really bad. Quality wise it was horrible. I think they save the leftovers and serve them again the next day. There were some tiny flies in cheese plate too.

Breakfast can improvo especially the coffee. The coffee is not so good. Temperature in the rooms can be very warm or cold. Service in the restaurant can also be improved. You need to ask for extra drinks or food, the waiter should check regularly.

Amazing location just right next to the main square. Wonderful property. Well maintained (there were minor issue but ignorable). Beautiful interior. My kids, loved the candy at the reception too.

1. I believe same as most other reviewers - their breakfast. Options were limited, sometimes cutlery were missing and also weird location. To our surprise out of the 4 nights we stayed, 1 day our experience was very nice, they even served us eggs & Coffee the way we wanted, etc. Made us conclude that if they want they can make the experience much better. 2. More of a suggestion than my dislike -> There are few steps to the lobby area and then few steps to the lobby. If you can also add a ramp, that would help customers with the luggage.

Good stay

The location is good. The furniture and facitilites are nice. The single bad was quite small, but it was my choice :) I liked the breakfast and the local pastries they have there, especially with mushrooms.

One day at the breakfast the coffee machine got broken and the staff offered me to go to their restaurant and buy a coffee. I don't think it is a good idea as I already paid for the breakfast.

Amazing location and rooms, but hot water, AC and breakfast need improvement.

Great location and the rooms have clearly had a refurb which look fantastic with a great layout, the hotel is quite big with many seating areas and rooms were very quiet allowing for a good nights rest

Some issues included the lack of hot water, this was a big one as it was luke warm at best, the AC also didn't work very well and maintaining a comfortable temperature was a tough one, also the breakfast was very far off having only a very small choice of items in what felt like a 20 person canteen.

Nicely remodeled hotel at a great location with scratchy characteters working there

Location was superb, elegantly renovated with high end finishings, breakfast was awesome

Showers in the first room 406 was impossible to regulate, toaleteries were missing in both rooms (409). Reception staff (Matovic) was very unwilling to meet my needs; I asked him to assign a room far from the elevator and he gave me a room closest to it-thought that was a bit ignorant of him. I asked to change the room and 409 didn’t have any issues with water in the showers but toaleteries were missing as well. Safety box malfunctioned and I had to wait for someone to come up with a master key to open it (about 30 minutes after I was told a couple of minutes).

Frustrating and very hot.

Newly refurbished hotel so everything was relatively new. Location was OK with restaurants, bars, shops, cafes nearby.

'Smart' hotel controls in the room didn't work. Temperature was stuck on 28C++ for the whole week. Air conditioning was not working - apparently the hotel staff couldn't turn the heating off or turn the A/C on. Rooms were fine but didn't have basics like tissues. Cleaners didn't clean up properly or restock coffee and tea. Bed had two tiny duvets and no sheets - very frustrating. Perhaps the owners ought to visit the Marriott or somewhere to see how its done? Location is good but the main road from Brankov Bridge comes up the hill to a set of traffic lights - very noisy day and night. Breakfast was poor with little choice. Otherwise fine.

The hotel is in an excellent central location. The members of staff were always helpful. My room far exceeded expectations for the price I paid. Superb.

Good location. Better beds.

The hotel has been refurbished and looks pristine. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there were more than enough pillows and pillow variety to accommodate all preferences. Got an upgrade from a single to a double room.

The breakfast needs improvement. They didn’t clean my room in the second day. Having arrived from a long and rough working day it was very very disappointing. I could have used the comfort of a fresh clean room. I made sure before leaving that the do not disturb sign was switched of. I returned to the hotel after 7 pm, so nothing could have been done as late.
