Mei li Dun Hotel Sanlitun Branch

The hotel has a well decorated large sized cafe that it suitable for catch-up with friends or for work-related, or just for taking instagram photos. You have access to garden courtyards located on the ground and upstairs level. There were 5 well-groomed cats hanging out when I was there. The cats are an essential part of the hotel staff!

Everything was fine.

This hotel has multiple outdoor courtyard both downstairs and upstairs allowing you heaps of opportunity to mediate or just chill. I saw 3 hotel cats when I was there with their own unique personalities. The hotel is set within the local neighhbourhood rather than tourist / commerical areas, so you get a genuine chance to enjoy the local Beijing neighbourhood vibe at leisurely pace.

There were the occassional waft of cigarette smoke coming in through the doors at odd hours. Lots of people still smoke so nothing you can do about this. I was a bit confused why the internet wasn't working but then I realised that is due to the great chinese firewall; when I swapped over to exploring social media content on the local 'Little Red Book' app, I had absolutely no issues with lag for live feeds. I was able to switch to e-sim access albeit at 4G speed via the mobile when I needed to get outside of the network restrictions.
