This could be a great property to stay but needs small things fixing to match similar properties

This house is in a stunning peaceful location with a fabulous pool overlooking the valley and hill town of Motovun. The house is an attractively converted old Istrian farmhouse with some lovely furnishings and full of character. The kitchen is well equipped. Air conditioning works well and it was lovely having such a spacious house to stay in with three separate bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable too. The pool area has four parasols and 8 sun loungers for use. The local Konoba restaurant in Orptalj is well worth a visit and there are some lovely hilltop towns within striking distance and the coast is also a 30min drive away.

Communication was extremely poor. We almost expected this to be a scam booking as we weren't given check in details at all. After messaging three times to request an early check in, we eventually received a message to say that it was not possible. That's ok, but after asking for check in details we were not messaged again. So, we followed a grid reference that we found on booking.com which luckily took us to the correct place. Luckily, the cleaners were running late and still at the property otherwise I do not know how we would have got the key. There were no instructions to the house and again, if the cleaners had not still been there I do not know how we would have got the WiFi code. Apparently, the group before us had a big party which is why the cleaners were late - however, cutlery and dishes were still dirty with food and we had to wash everything before use (apologies to the people after us but we did not wash the dishes that we didn't need so still things are dirty!). Little things such as washing up liquid and toilet paper were not provided which seems a reasonable expectation considering the price we paid for the property. Also, it would have been great to have some lights by the pool so we could use it / the area around it after dark. There were some there but they didn't work.
