About this house rental

Visit us at The Wellington General to enjoy 1 of 2 fully renovated, centrally located, uniquely designed units in a circa 1880 general store. 4 blocks from Wellington Beach, bike trails, and steps to many outstanding restaurants & cafés (Drake Devonshire Inn/ Midtown Brewing Co), and art galleries. Top floor unit w/ 2 bedrooms w/en-suite baths, large living room, eat-in kitchen, orig 9” pine floor, smart TV, fast Wifi + dedicated workspace. 2 private entrances and balcony with lake view.

Completely renovated spacious, private top floor unit in circa 1880 general store located on Main st in Wellington, the heart of Prince Edward County.

Light and bright living space. Perfect for 2 couples or a family. Eat in kitchen and dining space. Smart TV and outdoor fire pit, and board games for the perfect staycation. Or enjoy the over 40 wineries a short drive away, the incredible restaurants steps outside your door, and all the fun that Lake Ontario including a 10m walk to Wellington beach, and 2m walk to the shores of the lake to enjoy the sunset. The white sand beaches of Sandbanks Provincial park is just a 20 min drive way.

We are located right on Main Street in Wellington!

If you are looking to book dinner reservations, a wine tour or hire a touring company to drive you around for the day, we highly recommend you book this well in advance as these services book up fast (especially) in the summer!

There are also a few bike rental companies in Prince Edward County, which we recommend you book in advance as well. There are a few taxi companies such as Cronkies Cab, Terry's Taxi, and The Taxi Guy.

About 30 stairs are required to access the suite as its on the top floor.

HOUSE RULES

+ No smoking of any kind is allowed indoors or on property

+ Please remove your shoes inside the house

+ Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am in an effort to respect our neighbours

+ Parking: we have space for 2 vehicles for your use on the property at once; find the parking lot to the rear of the building. Please do not park in the driveway so as not to block other cars.

+ Please don’t flush anything down the toilets that is not organic or toilet paper and do not pour grease or coffee grinds down any drains.
+ You are welcome to help yourself to on hand supplies. If you use the last of something, kindly replace it before you leave.

+ If you wish to have a campfire, the fire pit on the property is out back (please bring your own firewood). We have a burn permit located in the apartment. You must call the number located on the permit (it’s automated) to let them know you are having a fire. Address is 319 Main St Wellington. Ensure you FULLY extinguish it when finished.

+ Avoid bringing sand and rocks from the beach into the house please.

+ No parties or events.

+ Washer and dryer are for long term guests only. For guests there for a short time, there is a laundromat at 153 Wellington Main Street.

Access code did not work, it took over 1 hour before we were given location of physical key. Glad we were given remote access, but, crawling under a deck to find a key was not fun. Windows needed a good cleaning, inside and out. When we removed garbage bags to take outside before leaving, we saw garbage from previous users. Smaller bathroom would benefit from a caddy to hold soap and shampoo, and even more importantly a telephone shower to allow proper rinsing. None of the seats offered sufficient back support , however, bed mattresses were firm and comfortable Linens were clean and soft. Kitchen had all amenities needed. Scary steps to get to 2nd floor, perhaps fill the back and add grip strips to avoid falling if wet or icy. We would have appreciated the option to use front inside steps for safety.
