Scrambles Cottage

Amazing cottage. Location was perfect, a little walk up and you are on Ham Hill. Dinner again 5-10min walk up to The Prince of Wales pub for a relaxing evening. Easy instructions to get there and get in. Well, inside was amazing. Clean. Freshly smelling bedsheets. Fully equipped. Perfect.

All amenities and rooms as described in the profile for this cosy cottage. Really thoughtful touches with a welcome pack of fresh food items and snacks (thank you!). Cleaning items and toiletries also provided. Comfy beds and access to a good range of TV channels and good WiFi. Amazing views over the countryside and only a short uphill walk to a local pub, Ham Hill Country Park and a range of cpuntry walks or hikes. Be mindful that there are a lot of narrow stairs as bedrooms are over two floors. As profile suggests, car parking is on the other side of the lane and there are steps down to the road.

The company/owner needs to make better arrangements for the removal of rubbish. It is unfair to assume that the next renter should empty what looked like at least 2 weeks of other people's rubbish. Although it was bin day on the morning we left, my 80 year old parents were unable to manage to move wheelie bins down a steep track/steps and it would have taken me at least 6 trips to move all of the bins of other peoples waste. All outside rubbish bins and recycling bins were full to overflowing when we arrived. We were greeted by smelly bins and flies right outside the window and front door, including the shared indoor porch at the rear of the property which blocked the exit to the back door (its unclear if that rubbish was from the neighbouring property, ours, or both). We generated one small bag of trash during our 3-night stay and took this away with us. The sofa looked quite grubby and had a lot of animal hairs on it.

Easy instructions, loved the welcome pack really handy after a long drive. Stunning loaction perfect for walks with the dog literally step out the front door and we were on an adventure. The cottage was stunning everything I needed. Really cosy great use of space lovely finished throughout. Lovely touch having the table and chairs on the front garden perfect for watching the amazing sunsets. Definitely recommend.
