Keeper’s Cottage

Perfect location for a walking holiday. Plenty of walks nearby, not far from Ham Hill Centre and Montacute provided an excellent village location for pubs and a National Trust property.

Nothing that was poor, and the minor issue we had with alarm was resolved promptly by Trevor [the property manager]. TV instructions was a little confusing [and owner is aware and working on solution] but that really did not matter as we were there for a walking holiday!

Lovely cottage with character. No neighbours with plenty of wildlife visitors. The owners greeted us with cheese, chutney, jam, fire logs and some other essentials which were greatly received. We spent an Easter weekend with friends visiting local attractions, at the local country park and then plenty of games at the cottage.

Spacious cottage, easy to find. Beautiful grounds and woodland. Fab host communication. Once at the cottage there is no sign of humanity for as far as the eye can see yet so conveniently placed for endless walks, access to the beautiful village and close to main towns. Really helpful booklet containing fantastic history on the place and surrounding area. A beautiful, real rustil cottage with proper English gardens and a breathtaking landscape. No complaints on any of the beds from a party of 8. Additional 3 dogs had a blast. Everything you could need at the cottage. An absolute Gem of English heritage. No human or dog wanted to leave. We will most definitely be returning.

Our only complaint is we didn't book for longer!

Location convenient for our purposes, however, the sat nav does not warn of closed road and dfficult turn if going towards Crewkerne - but that is not the fault of the hosts!
