A lot of stairs but beautiful traditional elliptical stair that I enjoyed. Bathroom and toilet functional but tiny. TV did not work

Lack of communication from the property manager. Using the booking.com messaging system was unsatisfactory as we did not get responses to our requests prior to arrival. They did send what appeared to be automated, timed messages which eventually gave the info we required. We did not get info regarding the process for getting the address / keys from the lockbox until 24 hrs in advance but we were already traveling and did not have internet access. Having the information sooner would have been reassuring.

The Location was not bad, it was near the city center, so it took us 30min max to get in the city. The area was not so loud and crowded, but it had a supermarket, a cafe and a pub nearby. The appartement was clean, and had all the Basics you need.

Don't expect a wooden floor, it was thick grey carpet in most of the rooms. If I think about it, it was probably for the better, because this appartment was drafty. You could feel the wind coming in through every window and the entrance door. There is no way to lock the entrance door properly, which was a problem for me, especially in the night. The size of the double bed is very small. My personal highlight, the gasmeter started beeping in the middle of the night, because of a software update. This was 24h before we checked out and when we left it was still beeping. So this appartment made me appreciate more of the small things in life, like water pressure, door locks and thermal insulation, all of wich I missed dearly. Nevertheless, I still have to say, the scottish people I met, were the nicest, most considerate people ever, with a great sense of humour, which will help you if you choose this accomodation.
