Staff were friendly and it was nice and quiet
Heating doesn’t turn up very high and the gaps ins the doors and windows allows bugs and the cold to get in

The staff were lovely and the location was fabulous the en-suite hut was great clean tidy and very peaceful location. Good food at the cafe and very welcoming room to eat and play games. We walked around the grounds even though it snowed it made it even more magical.

The room was nice and cosy, there was an electric radiator in the room with an easy to use thermostat. The area is beautiful and I appreciated how dog friendly the staff were as well as the site being dog friendly. The shower block facilities were particularly impressive with one of the bathrooms having a bath, the others had showers, as well as toilets. All of the shower block rooms were nice and warm as well as clean.
The cabin we stayed in did not have an ensuite bathroom as well as running water. I would have appreciated a clearer indication that the room had no bathroom attached and how far of a walk the shower block was. It also wasn't clear what room we would be staying in from the booking page.

Setting beautiful and peaceful. Sounds of birds, river and foxes at night. Lovely surroundings. Liked onsite cafe for coffee and tea.

The Place is completely isolated with no signs other than a tree stump on the floor, which is nearly impossible to see.
There are minimal signage in the retreat that are not clear
there is insufficient lighting around the retreat
When I pay for a deluxe anything I would expect a tv and or some working internet

I had a wonderful stay at this countryside retreat. The atmosphere was beautiful, the fresh produce and food selection were amazing, and most of the staff were very accommodating. Three women in particular went above and beyond—coming from someone with years in hospitality, their kindness and effort truly stood out. I forgot their names, but they know who they are. They also had a night warden most of the week, which added a great sense of security, and he was very friendly as well. Thanks to all of them, I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.
One thing that could have been better wasn’t really about the resort itself, but the area around it. Coming from London, which is very diverse and multicultural, my partner and I noticed a few differences in attitudes and behaviour in the local area depending on which of us was speaking. It wasn’t a major issue, but it was something we became aware of while out and about.
That said, the resort staff created such a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment that it really helped balance that out.
Everything within the resort, however, was genuinely lovely. The countryside location is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for switching off. The activities were well organised and enjoyable, and the prices for food, beverages, and snacks were surprisingly affordable considering the quality—fresh produce, great selection, and excellent value.

Cosy and fairytale like, the children were thrilled with the treehouse!

The breakfast was as expected, healthy option and the staff were very friendly
For the price , the room was smaller than expected. The room was only completed in August . It was lacking a chair to sit on and coat hooks on the wall and the fan was not working in the bathroom.
May I suggest the manager spends a night in the room and then they can identify these minor problems.

Very clean, fab location and the staff were fab!
Paid for a tree house but because of mobility issues was given a room with a bathroom but not offered anything in relation to cost.

The grounds of the property are absolutely stunning: acres of well-kept land, lovely hidden gardens, a little river where you can borrow a boat to row. There is a yoga centre that overlooks the land. The buildings have been restored to their glorious original beauty. We stayed in a tipi tent: beds were comfortable, it was roomy and there was a chest of drawers and bedside tables for storage.
The meals at the restaurant were healthy and fairly priced.
Shared toilets beautifully designed, with bathtubs or showers.
The immense site has a mixture of tree houses, wood cabins, tipi tents and rooms on the other side. My daughter loved exploring the grounds, chilling in the library and using the outdoor swimming pool.
There is also a piece of land across the road used to grow vegetables and produce for the restaurant.
Fairy lights did not work in our tent. It could have been more cosy with rugs and a log burner inside.
Swimming pool is not heated as advertised.
Breakfast is £15 but only worth if you like what is offered.

We stayed in a tree house that sleeps six and it was a perfect size for our family of four.
The grounds provided a perfect retreat with it's natural surroundings, beautifully kept gardens, and a restaurant with a new daily menu offering.
This by no means hampered or hindered our stay, but worth mentioning that both the row boats and canoe had holes in them, which meant that once in the water they filled up fairly quickly. We made the most of it, but perhaps they could use a repair.

Sprawling gardens with masses of wild flowers and an abundance of wildlife. Lots of different options for quirky and comfortable accommodation.
Friendly staff in the welcoming cafe- delicious wholesome meals with loads of fresh produce from the kitchen garden was reasonably priced.
Plenty to do onsite- rowing, paddle boarding, games and books. Firepit and marshmallows in the evenings.
Shower block was clean and offered privacy- beautifully decorated individual washrooms.
The pool was quite an alarming shade of green in spite of the natural filtration and wasn't very warm- I opted for a lake swim instead.
There was quite a strong smell in one area- I'm not sure if it was standing water or the water treatment for the shower block.
The breakfast buffet seemed quite expensive at £15 for an adult. There was lots of choice but mainly continental style (pastries, fruit, yogurts, cereals meats and cheese etc)

A peaceful escape, stunning serene grounds with beautiful views. Especially loved the lake with boats and paddle boards. Toilets and wash rooms very clean. Lovely cafe.
Boats had holes in. Life jackets dirty and badminton rackets broken. Limited food options in cafe.

Great peaceful location, staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely cabins, communal bathrooms, restaurant etc. Beautiful place. Food was excellent too.
No proper check in, just given the key and shown to our cabin. Nothing was explained, such as where things were, times of breakfast, fire safety procedures etc. Also no information re any of this in the cabins themselves. No maps of the resort anywhere, which would have been useful, so we knew where things were, without having to wander about trying to find things. Should have paper copies in each cabin, along with info about the stay, and fire safety procedures too. No WiFi or internet available inside the cabin, so had to keep going out into the woods. The restaurant hours a bit ltd in evening, closing at 8 is a bit early and no bar too. Check out too early at 10am. Some of the boats on the lake unsafe and leaking water.

Comfy beds, fantastic toilet / wash facilities, peaceful location
They ran out of food on Saturday night! So we couldn’t order what we wanted and some people were just told ‘we’ve run out of food’.
Breakfast was nice but overpriced.

The highlight was the food . Affordable and surprisingly delicious .
Friendly staff .
The accomodation is also unique and clean .
The cabin needs a comfortable seat . A small veranda will really help .

Staff were very welcoming, showed us around the grounds and were super helpful if we needed anything. Beautiful place and we can’t wait to go back !
Minor points but loungers are needed by the pool. There were chairs but not suitable for the poolside. Also some more footpath lights are needed by the fire pit and paths as I had to use my phone light to navigate through some parts of the grounds at night.

West lexham is beautiful! The grounds are absolutely amazing with wild flowers everywhere. As soon as you arrive you feel like you’re on a retreat away from the busy real world! We stayed in the glamping tent which the beds were really comfortable and there was enough space for myself, my partner and two small children! We stayed in the riverside tent right next to the sheep’s which they loved! The sound of the river was extremely relaxing.
Breakfast was nice. This wasn’t included in our stay so we paid. We had pizzas on our first night and they were tasty and cooked fresh with all local ingredients!
The shared toilets and showers were lovely! Clean, smelt great and the natural shower gels & shampoo were also lovely!
The site is quiet and you barely hear any other guests!
Our only negatives were the fact that there is no cooking facilities whatsoever other than the cafe on site. Not even a communal coffee machine or anything so you have to wait until the cafe is open at 8 am to do anything. We were woken up early by the sheep’s and daylight(which is wonderful) however would love to have had a peaceful early morning cup of tea or coffee but instead we had to wait hours. I understand we were in a bell tent with no electric but I don’t think the treehouses even have anything like this.
Breakfast- Our kids are 2&4 and the evening of arrival we were told that breakfast is £15 per person and children are £8 pp. The lady(whom I believed to be the manager) made a small point the children being so young that evening as if to say she understood they don’t eat much! The next morning, a £46 breakfast later where my children only ate a yoghurt and mouthful of cereal was extremely overpriced.
These were our only negatives of our stay. We would return however!

Beautiful grounds and gorgeous location.
Fantastic cabin
The evening meal was very disappointing. We had to wait over an hour even though we were the only people dining. Pizza was burnt and tasteless, pasta salad was bland and the chicken was lacking flavour.
Also one dish failed to turn up

The area is beautiful. Cabins really cosy brilliant walks for the dog. Would definitely stay again.
That i didnt book a cabin with en suite gets a bit cold walking to the toilet in middle of night. Although the distance from cabin to toilet isnt that far.

Beautiful scenery and lots of amenities like paddle boarding, use of the swimming pool etc
There was no toaster and felt like the check in was a bit rushed
