Cosy studio flat moments from the beach, Kemptown

Great location right near town and the beach. Fantastic South Asian restaurant literally round the corner which we highly recommend to guests. An Italian just up the road also gets our stamp of approval. The room was a really a good size, with a super comfy armchair we loved and suited our needs well. If you wanted to cook full meals you might find that challenging with the equipment but you can easily make a nice breakfast and having a microwave, kettle and fridge is so handy if you are there a few days.

When we arrived the cleaners had unfortunately not turned over the flat between guests. We arrived very tired having driven from Cornwall (7h) in need of a shower and a decompress which we then had to abandon so that was a bit of a let down. However, the management company staff member got a housekeeper out to the flat within 20 mins and got the turnover sorted and we sat in the restaurant round the corner whilst they did it. We were offered a late check out on leaving which was a nice gesture to compensate us but due to our journey times we sadly could not make use of it. One other note is watch the fine print on the booking. It says free parking but this is not in fact the case. Whilst you can park on street you need a permit to be allowed to do so that was not supplied at the accomodation. Fortunately my cousin lives nearby and gave me one but without that you would not be able to use the permit on street parking and the whole area around the place is permitted. It is also extremely difficult to find parking nearby due to the permit situation and overcrowding of amount of accommodation to parking bays. Parking your car in car parks will be possible but very pricey and leave you walking a fair way to your accomodation.

The place was spacious and very close the seafront. It was clean, had what we needed and the bed was comfortable.

There was building construction on the property going on outside that we weren’t made aware of beforehand, so there was drilling and banging right outside our window each morning at 8:30am. Also the building doesn’t have a lift and we were on the top floor. We didn’t know we were going to be on the top floor and it made it challenging with our luggage. Finding a parking space is a challenge.
