The property was very small but cute and quirky. It had mostly everything you would need for a short stay. The property was clean and tidy.
There was scaffolding around the property next to us, the gap between the properties was a small alley way so the scaffolding touched the property we were staying in , we were not told about this before our stay. Each morning about 8.30am men would start working on the property next door literally right outside my bedroom window on the scaffolding, but unsettling!! Language they were using wasn’t nice either !!The front door lock was broken so we had to use the side door , again we weren’t told about this before we arrived, but took us 45 mins to get into the property. I couldn’t get hold of the people looking after the property to start with which was very frustrating after a long journey. When I did finally speak to an agent she was very helpful and did help us get into the property but again very frustrating as my signal dropped out on my phone when I was in the back of the alley so I was trying to video us trying to open the door then having to go to the front of the property to send the video!! The side door lock continued to give us problems on and off during our stay. The window in the living room wouldn’t close which was unnerving as the scaffolding next door was right outside the window, I felt like anyone could climb up and enter the property through it! I didn’t really feel totally safe. The tv in the living area was broken, which was annoying as it meant that we didn’t really sit together and chill out , the girls watched tv in their room and I sat in my room!! There was a broken blind in the upstairs bedroom but that was fixed the day after we arrived. They were supposed to fix the window and the tv too but that didn’t happen while we were there. We did enjoy our stay in Brighton it’s just a shame there were lots of things that were not great about the house.

Position was good.
Hadn’t realised that the two flights of spiral stairs to the main bedroom would be so hard for me to navigate. Granted, there are rails but for anyone with sight/mobility issues it would be hard going. Very noisy at night which we expected but there were a lot of groups congregating outside smoking at all times. Again kind of expected this but not on that scale. We had no iron or tea towel and asked for these which turned into an Ealing comedy sketch. What a fiasco! On our last night my daughter in the downstairs bedroom was woken by someone trying the door and shining a light into her window. Seems they were trying to access the property across the lane but the code wasn’t working. We struggled to access our place. There are 2 doors (didn’t know that) and the first you come across doesn’t open. You have to go round the corner and enter via the door behind the railings. We didn’t use any of the kitchen appliances. The kettle really needs a good descaling. We bought takeaways. If you like the hippy vibe of place then I’m sure you’ll like it.
