Ras Mohamed is a national reserve and also an Egyptian military area. Entry and exit are strictly limited by time. You can enter and leave only between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM every day. Important: from 5:00 PM until 9:00 AM, it is not possible to enter or leave the campsite area. Because of this, I had to spend the first and last nights in a hotel, since my flights were in the evening and at night. Please check the exact opening hours of Ras Mohamed before booking. As far as I understand, the hours may vary depending on the season. 2. A taxi to the campsite in Ras Mohamed will cost much more than a regular taxi. You should budget around $35–45 one way, so approximately $70–90 in total for taxis. In my case, a driver accepted the ride through the inDrive app, but when he saw the route, he refused to take me for the $7 shown in the app. In the end, I spent a lot of time looking for a taxi and could not find anything cheaper than $35. You will also have to pay $5 for your taxi to enter Ras Mohamed. 3. In addition, you need to pay $10 for each day of your stay inside Ras Mohamed. This fee is not included in the accommodation price and is paid separately at the entrance to Ras Mohamed. 4. Bring two power banks. There is no electricity on the campsite. In the morning, you can give them your power bank, and they will return it to you fully charged in the evening. 5. Bring towels, bed linen, and personal hygiene products. In this campsite, “all inclusive” means breakfast, lunch, dinner, a tent with a mattress, pillow and blanket, and drinking water. 6. There will be no problem

This is a real gem near Sharm el Sheik. I stayed here as a solo traveller and I had no doubts that I am safe here. The manager speaks English and he took care of me in a very professional manner. I was surpised about the quality and the variety of food I was served with 3 times a day. Cold water and Coke was always available. If I wanted I could go to snorkell alone in the morning or in the afternoon when less people are around. Yes, some small tour groups are also coming here to snorkell, but for me it was a blessing that i dont need to go to the sea alone. They eat in a different location, so you can still have your privacy near to your tent for food and relaxation. There is a lovely beautiful cat in the camp if you need company during your stay, but she knows where is her place if she is not welcome. So no hassle at all. The silence and the stars at night are just priceless! The place is safe at night as it is surrounded by soldiers.

There is nothing I didn't like, but few things to mention: overnight stay in the National Park is extra 10 dollars per night. Organise your transport ahead. I used an App for that and requested a pick-up for the day of leaving. Take a powerbank and a good book if you are alone.
