A charming hundred-year-old cabin in the heart of Sapphire. The cabin has been upgraded over the years and was perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. Has the smell of old wood and is super cozy. Baseboard heating worked great, and single A/C window unit did the trick one afternoon when it got hotter outside. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee maker, Kurig, slow cooker, dishwasher, and full-size fridge.
The location is so convenient to all the surrounding activities. Easy access to Cashiers and Brevard for groceries, brewpubs, restaurants, etc. Several local restaurants within five minutes of the cabin. Excellent hiking in Gorges State Park, Pisgah National Forest, Panthertown Valley north of Lake Toxaway. Waterfalls in every direction! About 1 1/4 hours drive to Asheville.
The cabin is located on the main road between Brevard and Cashiers, so there's a little traffic at peak times. Cabin is set back pretty far from the road though, and we were able to enjoy the front porch with the dogs almost every afternoon.
Overall a fabulous location and highly recommended! Look forward to returning sometime soon.
