The Space:
Please note, all guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement.

This charming bungalow is nestled in rapidly changing East Austin landscape. It's proximity to Ceasar Chavez means you're in walking distance of the best bars and food Austin has to offer. This home is an excellent choice for guests wanting to stay near Austin’s dynamic city center with very easy access to all locations in and around Austin.

Upon arrival, guests enter into the sun-soaked living room. The plush sectional and smart TV are the perfect place to watch the game or finish the final episode of your favorite show. The floor plan expands into a beautiful kitchen designed for entertaining and culinary creations. The brand new appliances are perfect for culinary creations or whipping up a late night snack.

As the evening moves from cooking in the kitchen, to dining at the table, to lounging in the living area, this home is purpose built to enjoy the night.

Around the corner, you'll find Bedroom 1 with a welcoming King bed. This room has access to a beautiful and recently completed walk in shower.

Stepping into the back yard, you'll find a quaint, shaded area with 4 outdoor chairs and a personal grill. After a long night on the town, few things are better than gathering around with a glass of wine to reminisce.

The Neighborhood:
You are right in the heart of the East Austin restaurant, bar and entertainment area. A short walk to the East 6th Street and Cesar Chavez options as well as minutes away from Downtown, Rainey Street and South Congress.

We have a curated list of coffee, breakfast/lunch/dinner and bar recommendations waiting for you upon your arrival. Please find this information in the GUEST MANUAL upon arrival.

Established in the late 1800s, East Austin is steeped in rich history and culture. Cesar Chavez Street, 11th Street, and 6th Street are all hotbeds of dive bars, restaurants, boutique shops, and more. And while “dirty” 6th St. downtown helped solidify Austin’s reputation as “The Music Capital of the World,” it’s East 6th that’s keeping the spirit alive. On any given day, live music can be found in any number of venues - and during SXSW, the neighborhood is transformed into a walkable festival for visitors and residents alike.

To the south is Austin’s famous Lady Bird Lake and boardwalk and to the west is downtown and the infamous Rainey Street. Shady oak trees as old as the neighborhood itself line the streets and colorful homes dot the landscape everywhere you turn. East Austin is the perfect neighborhood to get lost while you stroll looking for good drinks, fine foods, and countless other hidden gems.

Pros: #1: The location is convenient, easy access to everywhere. Nice single parking spot, since street parking is often hard to find. #2: Washer & dryers definitely make our stay easy. #3: The customer care team is beyond wonderful! Thank you!!! We ran into a few of snags during our stay. They basically took care of everything as the moment I informed them.Cons: #1: The house is on a local street with very busy traffic, especially at night. Very loud! If you’re a light sleeper, it would be extremely hard to sleep in the 2nd bedroom. # 2: No vent hood over the stove. So you can’t really use the stove due to the cooking smells. The oven is old & weird. The thermometer is inside, which you need to physically check it to see if the desired the temperature is reached. #3: The screens aren’t really fit for the windows, which means you can’t open windows unless you want lots of insects in. Many misquotes! My 2 cents: #1: Please remove all rugs or change all rug pads. Otherwise, trip hazard! #2: Old house. Flooring is cracking when you walk on it. Hard for light sleepers at night. #3: the house needs a deep cleaning!

We loved this stay! It has an old-home feel but is recently renovated and super cute. Perfect for 3-4 guests. Short drive from downtown area or a walk if you’re up for it!
