Barnard street Cottage

Location, cosy and warm, had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Everything was top quality, from the linen & towels, to everything in the kitchen. Loved having electric blankets on the beds to keep us warm. Highly recommended, would stay again next time we visit Bendigo.

The location was fantastic, I was happy to see a carport as I don't like street parking. The house was very cosy. We don't eat breakfast, but it looked substantial.

My USB stick wouldn't work in the TV. (No big deal, just for movies)

The cottage was very clean. The hosts were attentive and generous. The front garden and porch looked inviting. Ample parking.

I feel like we were staying in a different property to the one rated as ‘luxury’ in the reviews. The cottage is situated on an arterial road and the traffic noise is LOUD, even with external windows and doors closed. It was a challenge to sleep at night, impossible to sit on the verandah during the day and uncomfortable being in the lounge room. A previous occupant must have messed with the electrical appliances: the microwave wouldn’t work, the TV and split system remotes barely operated and throughout the night the split system would randomly turn on. We couldn’t fit our luggage in the main bedroom and essentially based our belongings on the floor in the kitchen/dining room. We felt uncomfortable the whole time with the poor lighting and dark furnishings.
