Beautiful stay. Will 1000% be returning. Location is so lovely and quiet. Beautiful surroundings and cosy. Very clean, lots of information and very helpful. Host was lovely and stayed well contacted with us. Thankyou so much! 🙂

We stayed in the Linnet. Whilst fairly compact, the innovative use of space was extremely impressive. We found it to be very comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the kitchenette was well equipped. The location is nice and quiet, and we took a slow walk (I had sore ribs, see below) over the moors into Todmorden. It took us about 4hrs, with photo stops en route.
Unfortunately, we happened to be staying over the same weekend as a rather large group of gnats and ended up very bitten and itchy. We also missed the host's advice to avoid Church Road if arriving via Hebden. Do not make the same mistake! Church Road is narrow and very steep, with several hairpin corners. And surprisingly busy! We were on a motorcycle and fell off near the top of the road, which was not an ideal start to the weekend and could have been avoided if we had just taken the host's advice and ridden in via Heptonstall.

The cabin was clean, and well equipped with everything needed for a short stay. The kitchen facilities, bathroom and general standard inside the cabin were good.
I was very disappointed by the initial impression when I arrived. The photographs on Booking.com show three little cabins with tidy wooden terraces, pots and well-maintained planting. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. There were weeds and thistles several feet high around the cabins, weeds growing through the gravel and paths, and the wooden planters on the terraces were full of weeds and dead plants. The whole outside area looked very neglected and uncared for. The listing also describes the accommodation as having a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and sofa bed. I hadn't realised that the sofa bed is actually the double bed and is made up prior to your arrival. This means there is nowhere else to sit inside the very small cabin, other than on the bed. I therefore don't feel the description gives a particularly accurate impression of the layout. I had driven for four hours to get there and was so taken aback by the condition of the outside area that I actually sat in my car for some time wondering what I had arrived at. This is particularly disappointing because the cabins themselves are clean and well equipped. The only fault regarding cleanliness was the tea stained kitchen sink plughole and some of the tiles / floor in the shower, which could be better with a good scrub with bleach. With only three cabins, it wouldn't take a huge amount of work to maintain the paths and terraces and remove the weeds and dead planting. A little attention to the outside areas would make a huge difference to the overall experience and first impression.
