What I liked about the house was how easy the check-in process was. We received the details around 3pm and had no issues at all. The location is excellent—right in the centre and only a short walk to the train station. The house was well equipped with all the utensils we needed, and all the TVs worked, including smart TVs.

What I didn’t like was that the house was very cold and took quite a while to warm up. Luckily, we found a storage heater downstairs, which helped. In the back bathroom with the bath, the handle on the window was snapped, so it wouldn’t close. This meant that when using the bath or shower, the room freezing, so we couldn’t use the bath comfortably. Parking is on the roadside, which can be difficult, especially if you have to park away from the house and keep going back and forth to the car to bring things in.

Stylish and spacious house in good location but perhaps more suitable for adult parties.

The property was stylish and quite spacious for our family of four adults and two children. It was well equipped and well supplied. The bathrooms were well appointed and of good size.The host was responsive and attentive. The welcome tray of drinks, snacks and fruit was very generous. The location is very good, near enough for the train to Manchester. There are lots of good walks and scenic views locally. Pubs, cafes and takeaways plus Tesco and other grocery shops are close by.

As the house is right on the street, it is dark downstairs due to the blinds having to be closed for privacy. Guests should be aware that there is no dishwasher or tumble dryer. Also, there is no dining table The kitchen island and bar stools are inadequate for eating proper meals. Families with young children should note that there are a lot of ornaments around. Because the property used to be two houses, there are big steps inside, both on the ground floor and bedroom floor, which pose a risk for potential falls. The swing chairs and open fire need monitoring as do the stairs , which are wide and generally safe with good bannisters but without a gate..

Dirty and un-clean property Dust and rubble around and behind furniture Mould and flaking walls poorly finished around bathrooms bodge job Carpet by bedroom door nails sticking through Electric sockets didn’t work Light bulbs missing from lamps Damage on kitchen floor Cupboard doors broken 6 adults and 3 children on 2 beds and 1 sofa bed Front door opens straight onto main road not good with 2 dogs and 3 kids Back garden not secure enough for dogs and kids can access the high street Old carpets and cigarette ends by back door and uncared grass area for kids to play 3 cars and no off road parking ,we had to try to find some were to park each time we went out

Fantastic stay, beautiful house and friendly, helpful landlord

Loved everything about the property! Initially I had concerns that it wasn’t a genuine listing as I had only been given a postcode for check in. However, the landlord was quick to address this and provide me with all details which made me feel more at ease. Turned out to be a fantastic stay. Me and my partner had the entire 4 bedroom house to ourselves. We really enjoyed relaxing in front of the log burner sharing a bottle of wine or two

Fabulous stay at this very homely house. Everything we needed was available, the pamper was a very thoughtful touch. Hosts were most helpful and available to contact at any time. Amazing location for some beautiful walks.

Loved the stay, the host William was superb!

The property is located in a great area with the Tesco right across the road and a desert shop opposite to it. Kids just loved it. The location is 10 minutes walk from the scenic Peak District reservoir walks and exploring. We loved that we could explore the local villages in the morning and come back evening to enjoy the cosy house. We were eight of us 4 adults and 4 children. The kids just loved the huge projector to watch their late night movies and than go out for walks in the morning.

Excellent find

Location was excellent, the house was comfortable and William provided fruit, chocolates and a lovely little drinks hamper which was very nice. Highly recommend if you are looking to explore the area, which is stunning. Easy to access the house no fuss or Issues.

The property was clean and well maintained and smelt amazing.

Having locks on the doors would have made our stay a little more comfortable.
