The Nantahala Outdoor Center has a variety of watercraft rentals, along with guided excursions, just a half mile from the cabin. Hikers can also access the Appalachian Trail at the Outdoor Center. Families with children can test their prospecting skills while enjoying a visit to the Nantahala Gem Mine, less than a mile away.
