Le clos de l’Âne Dentelle

The house has a very special charm, just as the hosts! The breakfast was delicious and you’re just a couple of minutes away from beautiful Beynac. We can totally recommend!

Nos charmants hôtes (Nathalie et Laurent) nous ont accueilli dans un gîte à la décoration très raffinée contrastant avec la rusticité originelle des lieux (ancien séchoir à tabac). Les lieux sont magnifiquement décorés et la situation est idéale pour visiter la Dordogne. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et agrémenté de délicieuses confitures et yaourts maison. La proximité d’un grand nombre de restaurants aux alentours est très appréciable . Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de notre séjour .

Une maison à la decoration tres raffinée, un petit bijou avec un accueil tres chaleureux. Idéalement placée. Un chevreuil est venu nous saluer au petit déjeuner !

The property was a beautiful house. The decoration was unique and jazzy, we felt very comfortable in the room and slept through the night. It was a very short drive to local restaurants and bars, allowing us to quickly meet up with family for a meal in the evening.

Unfortunately we were unable to attend breakfast due to feeling unwell and exhausted, but prepared for checkout. We went downstairs, checked the rooms and outside and could not see anyone. So we loaded the car up and headed off. I sent a message to the owners complimenting them on the property and thanking them for the stay, apologising for not coming for breakfast. We received a rather abrupt and absconding message back saying that they were dissapointed in our “discreet” departure, that they’d never experienced something like that. We were informed we should have done more to find them and allow them to say good bye. Put a rather negative experience onto what was an otherwise lovely stay.
