This house is right on the canal and benefits from the shade provided by trees in the yard (something other houses seem to lack). The house itself has a lovely sitting area with views of said trees and a little balcony off to the side where you can sit and overlook the canal. The kitchen is very well stocked with every type of plate, glass, and utensil you could possibly need. There are both ceiling fans and ac to keep cool. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs and there’s also a little sitting room and kitchenette - making it great if there are two families vacationing together. The only potential downsides are that you have to be capable of walking up the stairs to enter/exit the home, the screened-in porch (on the bottom level) was only accessible via the inside because a lock had been placed on the door to the outside, and there were a few quirks (e.g., had to press down on kitchen faucet to turn it off, which took a minute to figure out). The only reason I didn’t give all stars for cleanliness was because the screened-in porch hadn’t been wiped down or swept but that was easy enough to remedy. Overall would definitely stay here again.

We loved the open kitchen and living area. There are a lot of windows and the back yard with chairs by the inlet was great. We also liked the deck. We really enjoyed the rental and would stay there again.

Overall we had a very nice stay in South Bethany, but there is certainly room for improvement. The living space in this home is lovely, and we definitely made great use of the upstairs porch and downstairs screened in area. Similarly, the primary bedroom upstairs is very comfortable.
That being said, we had a few items to note - The kitchen sink faucet appears to be missing a part and is difficult to operate. Additionally, the dishwasher door is remarkably loud and the soap container seems to be broken. In the downstairs full bathroom, the tub needs to be snaked/was not draining well. We plunged it which made a marginal improvement. Additionally, the downstairs bedrooms would really benefit from some kind of real dressers/furniture other than plastic storage tubs. The difference in quality and comfort of the upstairs bedrooms to the downstairs rooms is remarkable and was a bit of a bummer.
