Good value for money, kitchen facilities were exceptional

Bed not big enough for two people comfortably, difficult to open window with blinds down

Friendly staff. It was secure. Shower was great.

Needed a matt as you come into the room, just to wipe your shoes off. Floors were quite dusty. Had to keep slides on all the time. Bed wasn't made up very well. But it was easy to go to reception to ask for more bedding, to remake it yourself. TV in the common room had a bad signal. You couldn't really watch it.

My particular tariff meant, of course, that I provided my own breakfast, so it was what it is normally for me. I liked the way the place was run and the attitude of the staff. It was good that I was warned not to rely on availability of kitchen utensils - This may well change for the better, they've been at it for less than a year.

It was quite a palaver to get connected to the internet. The towels are rather small. Both these things may well change for the better. If one has to park close by (as opposed to merely loading/unloading), it will add significantly to the cost, but parking by the Roath Pleasure Gardens and the Roath Recreation Ground is currently free, and slightly under half an hour's walk away (13-22min by bus, 10min by bicycle - Currently non-folding bicycles have to be chained to rails in the street outside the front door, but in future they may be able get something more secure erected). Currently the microwaves are not combis (Are they anywhere?), but this could improve.

Surrounding area was the best part of this location

The room was for 2 people but only had 1 towel between us, shower was leaking all over the floor which soaked my clothes after changing and at start my key card wasnt working on certain doors so couldnt leave the building.
