North Shore Garden Studio

This property was quiet, secluded, private, and has a lovely kitchenette that was well stocked. It was bright and spacious and clean. It is safe and off the beaten path. And the dog, Teddy was a highlight.

It is a little pricey. But I think it was worth it.

The location and setting of this studio are fantastic. Set up in the hills above North Shore, close to everything, in a peaceful and beautiful suburb. The garden is lovely, and the setting is perfect. The pool is a nice addition, though we didn’t use it - too many great beaches nearby. Check in was easy and the communication was great.

Felt a little too intimate with the neighbouring apartment (could hear them in the bathroom etc). There was AC, but we were encouraged not to use it. I fully appreciate this, and in no way were we told ‘don’t use it’; TLDR we would have used it if we hadn’t been encouraged not too. The mornings are loud with birds and cars leaving and dogs barking, and sleeping with the windows open isn’t what we would have chosen. Seems to be a common compliant, with some earplugs left somewhat apologetically by the bed. The only other thing, picked up by some others, is that the interior could use a bit of updating. I still don’t understand how the shower handles work with each other :)

The host was very responsive, and fixed several minor problems within 24 hours. The location was very close to beaches, surfing and a food store. The neighborhood was quiet.

The kitchen and bathroom really were tiny. Only 2 appliances could be plugged in at a time, so we couldn’t make, for example, eggs, toast and coffee all at the same time. No restaurants in the area, only a couple of food trucks and a grocery store. The road to reach the unit is very steep and winding - wouldn’t want to attempt it in the dark! The yard was rather messy. Although the room was very clean, the lanai and outdoor furniture was not.
