The place is nicely maintained, well layed out, and very comfortable. It was convenient to nearby places (beaches, grocery store, etc.) This is a family owned rental, and Bernie and Maria were very supportive and helpful. Lastly for the North Shore of Oahu, this is an affordable option!

Lush and private- exactly the peaceful zen area I needed. More resort like.
I need the coldest air to sleep at night, that was my only issue. My host brought a fan that helped, but she also realized the unit in my room needed maintenance. She was on it to fix the issue!

I appreciated the self catering features, super great, spices, coffee, fridge, stove...everything kitchen needs and extra was provided complementary as part of the package. I was very happy.
Bunk bed, I regularly banged my head when getting into bed but that is the way dorms are, I could live with it...and I picked the room myself due to better price for me as a budget traveller.

The property is in a fantastic location. You can walk to Sunset Beach and Pipeline easily. It also has really close bus stops. It’s clean and the cleaning people are great. The lanai is also really nice, but there are mosquitoes. The king bed in the loft was fairly comfortable.
We had a private room that wasn’t so private. There were two pocket doors that lead to the steps to our loft. Those pocket doors were to be left unlocked and people passed through to get to the different bunk rooms. There was no door past the pocket doors. Just the steps and our bed, and people walking through at the foot of the steps. For some reason, they don’t want to be called a hostel? They had 3 bedrooms down one hall with 2 bunk beds in each, and shared bathrooms and kitchen. They called it dorms. They were adamant it was not a hostel. The single dorm beds were $93 a night, which was the only thing not hostel-like about the place. Oh, and we like hostels that are billed as hostels. There was also no where indoors to sit. No couches or chairs, period inside. They had a beautiful Lanai, but you had to battle mosquitoes. So to eat meals there, you either ate at a table with mosquitoes or you sat in the floor at a table that was about 12” off the ground indoors. No food could be eaten in the bedrooms at all. We were shown one indoor bath with a shower and one outdoor bath with a shower. There was another full bath we were supposed to be using as “private” loft renters through a door that said Private do not enter. We were not shown that bathroom at check-in. The cleaning lady told us when I asked if I could go to the bathroom with less than 1 day left in our stay. She was stunned that we were using the bathrooms for the dorms. The property manager started calling us at 1:00 when we were lazy traveling around for our 4:30 checkin. That seemed odd. They called us 3 times while we were on our way there between 1-4. There were some details that seasoned shared living travelers like ourselves could have done without, like clean up after yourself. Some of the rules seemed odd too. One was you can’t use the kitchen at all after 9:45. So if you get home after a show you can’t make a snack? Odd. And they “forbade” clients from taking photos for reviews. Also odd.
