Disappointing on several levels but once we were in, it was convenient and a great location.
The apartment's location was pleasant, which makes the maintenance and service issues even more disappointing.
Positive Aspects:
- The location was convenient and pleasant
- The area would have been enjoyable under better circumstances
- Very spacious for a Paris apartment!
Our 9-day stay at this property was unfortunately compromised by several significant issues, beginning with a concerning check-in experience. Upon arrival, we discovered that our originally booked apartment was unavailable, and we were redirected to a different unit where we found other occupants already present. We were finally settled into a third apartment, which was notably different in quality from our original booking.
Several problems impacted our stay:
Maintenance Issues:
- The bedroom window had a warning sign not to open it (as it wouldn't close), yet it opened by itself, causing heating concerns
- The toaster consistently tripped the electrical system
- Damaged floorboards created trip hazards
- The bathroom showed significant wear and damage
- The lounge furniture was heavily stained and appeared unclean
Basic Amenities:
- No coffee pods provided for the coffee machine
- No hand soap
- Only one roll of toilet paper provided for three people staying a week
- Initial Wi-Fi code was incorrect, and we only found the correct code midway through our stay with no communication from the host
Communication and Service:
- No proactive communication about the apartment switch
- Wi-Fi access issues were not addressed
- During our stay, we witnessed another group experiencing the same booking/access issues with their assigned apartment
While we understand that sometimes issues arise, the combination of problems and lack of communication significantly impacted our work-related stay. For future guests, I would recommend confirming the exact apartment unit you'll be staying in and ensuring all amenities are properly documented before booking.
