We’ve had a truly wonderful break at Grandin Holiday house. The house was excellently equipped, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. But the wow factor was the mountain and view lakes. Incredible, so beautiful … the peace and tranquility… it was soul restorative!
We enjoyed a day trip to Bellagio - big queue for ferry so give yourself enough time. We especially loved walking through the Villa Melzi Garden, absolutely stunning!
Our favourite activity was wine tasting next door at Domaso Winery - a fantastic way to while away 3 hours, incredible wine and tasty food, learning about the wine history - Sylvia, the host was very engaging and fun. Note: All the booking sites were full but we phoned and were able to attend later that day.
We found that some of the walk-to restaurants in Domaso are so close to the road and traffic noise spoiled it for us. We much preferred the peace and quiet of our location and ended up doing a couple of supermarket trips so we could eat at home.

- unieke locatie met prachtig uitzicht over het Comomeer en de bergen, oase van rust
- alle voorzieningen zijn er om een geslaagde vakantie te hebben
- de bedden waren vrij hard en de hoofdkussens waren vrij plat.
- als je met een grote wagen naar boven rijdt, houd je best rekening met smalle wegjes. Wij reden met een wagen van 6 meter en tot aan de parking van het huisje raken ging de eerste keer moeizaam. Eens je weet hoe de weg is, gaat het vlot. Enkel bij vertrek hadden we moeilijkheden bij het afrijden van de parking door het regenweer. Je kan met een lange wagen komen als je een goede chauffeur bent 😉

De rust, je hoort daar niets behalve vogels. Ook het zicht op het Comomeer is prachtig.
Wanneer je met een grote SUV rijdt, is het wat stressvol op de smalle wegen naar de vakantiewoning. Eens je weet dat je best tot op het einde van de doodlopende straat rijdt (waar je kan omdraaien) en dat je het bordje van privéweg moet negeren, dan vervalt alle stress.
