Great period property, location, property needs a deep clean, waited 2 days for basic brush and mop
Chose location and quiet setting to suit our holiday touring and downtime. We like period properties, great spacious rooms, functional bathroom. Use of Aga was straight forward. Requested heating on eve as unseasonally cool, owner dealt with this and enabling windows in kitchen to be used when cooking. Nice touch having fresh flowers in a few rooms,, biscuits and fresh fruit in welcome pack. Kitchen reasonably well supplied with cutlery. glasses, etc.
The property was very dusty and floors, surfaces had not been wiped, not brushed or mopped, skirtings and surfaces needed a good clean, also residue of previous users hair, crumbs. We brushed our bedroom floors and dusted so we could partially use bedrooms. We cleaned bath etc and brushed floors, we washed down kitchen surfaces, brushed floors. We carried very basic cleaning supplies, though no access to cleaning products nor a hoover, as in all previous accommodation we have stayed. Spoke to the owner, some floors were mopped 2 days after arrival and bedroom rugs hoovered, not really touched corridors and lounge, An apology card and gift was appreciated as we thought full clean had been done on the Monday. Pans have seen better days, Teflon heavily scratched, needed updating. Our slippers were thrown away as soles so dirty. I have photos of arrival and our new and freshly washed slippers after weeks stay.
