The apartment was newly renovated and clean, staff was very responsive with messages, walking distance to the ferry ports and old town -it’s situated just outside the old town and ferry by about 5-10 minutes walk, as well as walkable to some of the local resident areas. We stayed 3 nights-felt safe and not too noisy! No elevator so be aware there are stairs!

Our main complaint was that we stayed 3 nights and it had advertised a washing machine when we booked it-always critical to our stay halfway through our trip-we needed to do laundry-but the owner had renovated and removed it-without informing us. While I asked the manager to reimburse us (cost 45 euros for 3 loads at a nearby tiny self service laundry mat) and she did pay us back-it took several hours out of our day and we got caught in a terrible rainstorm walking to it -which was annoying-Not the biggest deal but certainly changed our plans for a half day-but we appreciated the manager helping us find a place and reimbursing us-if you don’t need to do laundry-would still recommend the apartment!

Douchecabine a bit small

The host was friendly, allowing us to store our luggage ahead of check-in—and the accommodation was ready earlier than expected, which was a lovely surprise. They even helped carry our bags up two flights of stairs, which was greatly appreciated, especially as it was extremely hot. The host was responsive, recommending local tourist spots and great restaurants. When there was some noise from the apartment above during the night, they checked in with us to make sure everything was okay. The apartment itself was well-equipped: the air conditioning worked well, the washing machine was fantastic, and having a proper kitchen with a larger fridge made things extra convenient. The location and neighbourhood were fine—not perfect, but perfectly adequate for what we needed and only a 10 minute walk to the promenade.

While our host was responsive throughout the stay, there were several issues with the accommodation that impacted our experience. The apartment building itself is quite old and a bit run down, which may have contributed to some of the maintenance problems we encountered. Most notably, the bathroom door didn’t close properly, and my husband was stuck inside for over half an hour. The host came as soon as possible after I messaged urgently and the host had to break the handle to get it open. The only way. I really appreciated his quick response, but the bathroom itself was quite old and poorly ventilated, which was especially concerning given the hot weather. It’s worth noting that a previous review had flagged this same bathroom door issue some time ago, which unfortunately still hasn't been resolved. Similarly, the showerhead doesn’t have a holder, which meant having to wash while holding it—not very practical. The outdoor shutters were also problematic. The mechanism to open and close didn’t work properly, so getting light into the room was a struggle. Opening them fully let in some daylight, but any breeze would cause them to slam shut again. This was especially frustrating for me due to my poor vision, as the space remained quite dark unless I turned on the lights. Again, a previous review had mentioned this issue, and it clearly hasn’t been addressed. The electrical outlet and light fixture in the bedroom were loose, which felt unsafe and definitely needs attention. The bedroom door also didn’t close properly—we chose not to shut it out of concern that it might jam and trap us inside. In addition, noise from the upstairs and neighbouring accommodations was extremely disruptive. Poor sound insulation meant we could hear constant footsteps and loud thumping throughout the night, especially on two of the three nights of our stay. It made it difficult to rest, and unfortunately impacted the overall comfort.
