Apartments Paula

Apartment is nice - perfect size for 1-2 people. While the steep stairs immediately inside the outer gate was an eye opener, the patio is a great reward once there. A man (perhaps Paula’s husband) met me at the gate, carried my suitcase up the stairs and got me some orange juice - all very much appreciated given I had been travelling two gruelling days and it was quite late. Location is excellent and I was very appreciative of the proximity to Old Town. Again, the patio was such a bonus.

Communication is the only issue I had. The owners have outsourced their Booking.com communications to a management company of some sort which uses AI generated messages that do little to actually resolve issues like my delayed flight/arrival. There is a local phone number for the owner but this wasn’t an option for me as the internet data plan I’m travelling with doesn’t include phone use. The man who met me spoke little English (completely understandable) but kept indicating I could call Paula if I needed anything despite me repeatedly telling him I couldn’t. There was no other option (ie WhatsApp) to communicate directly with the owner so I just gave up and didn’t see/hear from anyone for the rest of my one-week stay.

The location was fantastic, the hosts were kind and helpful, it had everything we needed.

Great location, well appointed apartment, fabulous terrace.

Be aware of the steps

Nice location

No one met us on arrival at night, we had communicated our expected arrival time prior to our arrival. No answer on trying to contact the host. Booking.com not able to contact host either. They suggest we knock on which resulted in an aggressive man coming to see why we were knocking. Offered a refund to go and find somewhere else to stay,which was not acceptable at 11pm Host eventually arrived looking a little worse for wear. Never returned for the 10am check out either.
