We really enjoyed the lodging. It was very close to the downtown area able to walk everywhere. But yet it felt like it was in the woods with the river in the back and in a neighborhood. It is very comfortable and cozy and clean. Although the pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable and there were no blinds in the main room so the street lights were very bright. Other than that, we really liked it

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Kingfisher. Communication with the owner was good and he always answered promptly. It was easy to find and on a quiet street.As others have mentioned, it reminded me of staying in my grandmother’s cabin. The living room floor had a few uneven spots. This was not an issue for me but my husband, who uses a cane, was not a fan.The kitchen had all the essentials as far as dishes and pots and pans. We appreciated the full coffeepot as opposed to a Keurig type.We only used one bedroom but it was comfortable and quiet. The adjoining bathroom was very clean but could use some additional towel racks and/or hooks. I also suggest a bathmat or gripper strips in the shower as we found it fairly slippery. The weather was mild during our stay and we were thankful. The house has multiple heaters and fans plus a window type AC unit in the living room. We were able to keep the house cool enough but the temp was more uneven than in a house with central air. Our favorite feature was the carport and the location by the river. There were 2 rockers under the carport which we enjoyed very much. We spent hours there enjoying the water and some wildlife. Bring your own chairs if you plan to sit in front right by the water. There was a nice, large TV in the living room and some games and puzzles in the cabinet underneath.

Host was fantastic and friendly. Cabin was beautiful right off the lake and walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg, which was super helpful. Highly Recommend and would definitely stay again.
