The VBRO listing was for a hotel, Sonesta, which wasn't terrible. What was misleading were photos of buildings that were not the actual property listing, and a description of activities like "strolling in the garden" (non existent). If the lister had been more accurate to set expectations, they could have said that the hotel is a short drive to a wildlife refuge and Newport attractions, also adjacent to a busy commercial road. Pool and hot tub area was nice. Lobby, staff and room were fine.

Would return. Very pleasant and helpful desk manager when we arrived. Only issue: toilet kept running and the float had to be manually adjusted after each flush. Otherwise a good stay.

For what we paid I didn't think the place was worth it. No breakfast which I thought was included. Staff not overly friendly. I asked the front desk for a recommendation for a good seafood restaurant and was told well any of them in Newport are good. I guess it was too much of a bother for her to offer an opinion. Won't be staying here again.
