Ombak is close to the ferry pier and the beach. Their restaurant is on sand, half covered by a roof, the rest enjoying full outdoor. They provide daily cinema feature and most evenings a fire show. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cabins have air-conditioning and fan, moskito net. fridge and warm shower.

The price is very high for Malaysia but relatively normal for Perhentian Island. At the beginning of the season no breakfast buffet available

Nice and friendly staff, always ready to help. The location is excellent: Coral Beach is small and beautiful, with great snorkeling right nearby. Ombak Divers' team is professional and always available to organise dives and excursions: they are very patient with kids. The restaurant attached to the hotel isn’t Michelin-star quality, but it’s convenient and practical. They also organise movie nights, which can be a fun and relaxing way to spend the evening.

The room was rather small, and the furnishings and equipment felt quite dated. We did not use the heater in the shower, as we were not comfortable with the electrical system, with some cables exposed and visible. The air conditioning was quite noisy and not particularly effective. We could also constantly hear the hum of the electrical generator from our room. We do not blame the hotel, as generators are the only way to provide electricity on the island, but at the time of booking, better to check the position of the room.
