Benjamin, my host, is a gentleman. He did help me with my suitcase up to the stairs, and I appreciate his prodigality in recommendations and suggestions. Present, friendly and unobtrusive, when I did ask him if it was possible to do a bbq in the garden, he even supplied me with the charcoal. His house with garden for the guests is a little paradise. You find all the cooking utensils that you might need (¡French culture!). The house is near a beautiful beach and near the centre of Biarritz by car, as well as the centre of Bayonne. Within walking distance you have a well stocked Carrefour to indulge in discovering Basque tastes and ingredients. The garden with the sun ombrella is a perfect resting corner.

Quiet rural area, beautiful views, convenient parking, easy to get to Bayonne/Biarritz, clean and comfortable, friendly welcome

Kitchen extremely small and an oven would have made a big difference for a longer stay. Similarly a washing machine would have helpful. Low ceiling in bathroom was awkward.

Nice bedrooms, albeit with sloping roof, so not great if you are tall. Very quiet location. Easy to park outside. Clean and tidy and great to see original art on the walls.

Location not very convenient as you have to cross the river at Bayonne to get anywhere, so it adds a lot of time getting in and out. We arrived and were instantly disappointed with the presentation of the outdoor area. Lawn unmowed for months, so long grass, enormous weeds everywhere, outdoor furniture just haphazardly placed - not set up. No cushions or umbrella. Soap and shower gel dispensers empty. Kitchen is tiny and there is only a microwave and cooktop and tiny fridge. No microwave cookware to use, pots missing handles, no electric kettle or chopping board. I sent an email on arrival as they ask you to let them know of any issues and only got a reply 3 days later. Not really good enough.
