Next to the very quietly located house at the end of a cul-de-sac is a lawn with fruit trees. For a good start to the day, the landlady can prepare breakfast on request. Especially inviting for hiking is the "Schönecker Schweiz", which reaches from Schönecken to the vicinity of the city of Prüm. Schönecken has a historic town center, castle ruins, a castle chapel, a craft museum and educational forest trails. You can reach the castle ruins via beautiful hiking trails or from the village via a staircase along the castle chapel.
