Farmhouse Villa with Large Pool and Garden in Gozo

Property is beautiful and was very clean. The outdoor space is amazing. The beds were comfortable and room sizes are very spacious.

The a/c being on a meter mainly due to the issue of having enough coins and the fact that there isn’t an ac in the open plan and kitchen . The heat is unbearable especially since we were there during a heat wave.

Das Farmhaus liegt am Ortsrand mit teilweise schönen Ausblick auf die Felder. Gahrb ist ein sehr ansprechender, sehr ruhiger Ort mit vorwiegend landwirtschaftlicher Nutzung. Ungefähr 1 km entfernt findet sich ein kleiner Laden für den täglichen Bedarf, bei dem auch Brot für das Frühstück gekauft werden kann. Und weiter ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant neben der Kirche. Mehrere Restaurants und Geschäfte finden sich auf der Straße nach und in Victoria und sind mit dem Auto oder dem Bus erreichbar. Das Farmhaus ist sehr gut als zentraler Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung von Gozo geeignet, schöne Wanderwege entlang der Küste sind in kurzer Distanz erreichbar.

Das Farmhaus ist Teil eines Komplexes von mehreren Ferienhäusern, die teilweise noch nicht fertig gebaut sind. Dem landwirtschaftlichen Umfeld geschuldet findet fast täglich zeitig am Morgen eine Jagd statt und der Lärm der abgefeuerten Schüsse ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Küche ist geräumig, es sind alle Geräte vorhanden aber stark abgebraucht und qualitativ zweifelhaft, so waren beispielsweise die Weingläser aus PVC. Einige der Matratzen sollten erneuert werden um den Komfort in den eher kleinen Betten zu erhöhen und der Pool war nicht gereinigt - es war bei unserem Aufenthalt kein Badewetter. Die Vermieterin ist gut erreichbar.

The architecture is beautiful - medieval almost - but with modern upgrades, appliances, technology, etc. Location is ideal if you like tranquility, nature, and peace. Lots of nearby family restaurants and natural marvels. It reminded us of Game of Thrones - a beautiful property.

We found out the hard way that limestone absorbs moisture and may shed mold/mildew/dust particles. The first level of the villa has very old/original moist limestone - smelled like being in a cave. Levels 2 and 3 have new dry modern limestone. My wife has a sensitive respiratory system due to asthma - mainly induced from allergies. After just a couple hours in the villa she began having difficulty breathing. After leaving the villa for an outdoor walk and late dinner - she improved and returned to normal. We returned to the villa late at night after dinner and went to sleep. She awoke around 2am with an asthma attack. We slept in the car until sunrise then vacated the villa. Her breathing returned to normal a couple hours later. We checked into a hotel and she was fortunately fine the rest of the vacation.
