The Old Bank

Fantastic location in the heart of town, with an easy walk to shops and beaches. Great space, especially the open plan kitchen and lounge. The shower in the en-suite was wonderful, and the beds were very comfortable.

Quite dirty in places. The windows only opened a couple of inches, which was awful in the heatwave. The main bedroom and kitchen windows could not be opened. The outside front door is rotting, and the key safe was not marked correctly. The key for the apartment was rusty, and it was very difficult to unlock. We left the fire extinguisher behind the apartment door each night for security, as it did not feel safe. One morning, we woke up to find it had moved, so someone had tried to enter in the night and pushed it back from the door. Very worrying. Additionally, the blind in the en-suite did not close fully, so we had to hang a towel up for privacy.

It is very well equipped to be fair.

Cleanliness ! Towel rail in the shower room, full of dust. I put a pair of dark shorts on a shelf in the cupboard, when I took them out to wear them, they were grey with dust on the bottom from the shelf. It was like it had only been dusted where you could see. En-suite door doesn't shut. Needs planing on the top. Window frames filthy. Vacuum cleaner stunk the place out. Some windows would not open at the top. Jammed. White chopping board was dirty and stained. Such a pity, because it has great potential, being as I said, very well equipped. Also, I tried to contact Sykes to ask about parking, as there was no mention of it in the ad, never got any suitable response. So I booked a spot in St.Ives for £70. When we arrived, read the information,only find it had a parking space, after I'd already paid for another one.😡
