Some comments are in order. The noise from the cicadas is a nightmare from June to August. We had forgotten about this. If you find it bothersome, you should look for a place without trees and bushes. The apartment was nicely situated, with a short distance to beaches and plenty of great hiking opportunities in both directions—east and west—from fantastic coves to spectacular summit treks. The apartment was okay, aside from the cleaning. Something needs to be done about both how it’s cleaned and what actually gets cleaned. BUT there was no air conditioning. That is unacceptable in France in the middle of summer. If we had known that, we wouldn’t have rented it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, unlike all the grumpy old grouches who lived in the area. They were always whining and commenting, and above all they sat there watching our kids constantly whenever we were at the pool. There were lots of pointless rules about exactly what was allowed to drink, etc. Personally, I couldn’t care less and would tell people to go to hell if they start that nonsense. So, in summary, definitely not worth the price, but if the price is halved, it’s a very good option.

Quelques commentaires s’imposent. Le bruit des cigales est un véritable cauchemar de juin à août. Nous l’avions oublié. Si cela vous gêne, vous devriez chercher un endroit sans arbres ni buissons. L’appartement était bien situé, à proximité des plages, et offrait de nombreuses possibilités de randonnées à l’est comme à l’ouest, des baies magnifiques aux randonnées de sommet spectaculaires. L’appartement était correct, hormis le ménage. Il faut faire quelque chose à la fois sur la manière dont on nettoie et sur ce que l’on nettoie. MAIS il n’y avait pas de climatisation. C’est inacceptable en France en plein été. Si nous l’avions su, nous ne l’aurions pas loué. Le personnel était très serviable et aimable, contrairement à tous les vieux grincheux qui habitaient dans les environs. Ils se plaignaient et commentaient, et surtout, ils n’arrêtaient pas de fixer nos enfants du regard dès que nous étions à la piscine. Il y avait de nombreuses règles absurdes sur ce qu’on pouvait boire, etc. Franchement, je m’en fiche et je répondrais aux gens d’aller au diable s’ils commencent avec ça. En résumé, ce n’est absolument pas à la hauteur du prix, mais si le prix est réduit de moitié, c’est une très bonne option.
