We stayed at Messinian Sun for a week and had a wonderful experience. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful sea view and a very comfortable bed.
We arrived a little early, and the property managers, Helen and Eleni, kindly arranged an early check-in, which was especially helpful with our luggage. They also arranged for the cleaning lady to meet us and pick us up from the front gate. Everything was handled with great kindness and hospitality.
One of the nicest surprises was finding cold water in the refrigerator when we arrived. With temperatures over 36°C in Kalamata, that cold water felt like heaven after our journey!
The location was also perfect for exploring Kalamata and nearby historical sites such as Ancient Olympia and Ancient Messene. We really enjoyed discovering Greek food and culture, and coming from a Persian background, we noticed many interesting similarities between Greek and Persian culture.
Now that we are back in Hamburg, we especially miss the wonderful weather and the warmth of the people. Kalamata really offers the full package: beautiful beaches, great food, fascinating history, and wonderful people.
And finally, a funny story: I accidentally brought two forks from the apartment back to Hamburg! 😄 When we told Helen and Eleni, they were so kind that they didn't charge us for them. We plan to bring the forks back on our next trip!
We definitely recommend Messinian Sun and would happily stay here again.
The only thing we found a little difficult was the steep slope at the entrance to the property, especially when driving the car in and out. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay.

Die großzügige Terrasse ein Highlight jeden Urlaubtages mit dem Blick über die Bucht nach Kalamata. Das ganze Appartement sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Gastgeberin war sehr herzlich und freundlich zu uns.
Es war alles top!
