A very nice location, and both Matteo and Roberto are very welcoming people with good knowledge of the area
As we have come to realize, through reading other reviews of the place, there is a tendency to accuse visitors who complain about the cleanliness of expecting a 5-star experience.
So we would like to emphasize that we in no way shape or form are expecting, nor looking for a 5-star experience. We don’t mind a bit of rough around the edges, a dog that poops in the yard once in a while etc. to us - that adds a homey character, that elevates the experience.
What we don’t expect however, wether it be a 5-star or a guest house experience is black mold in the bathroom; dirty dishes and cutlery that obviously haven’t seen a proper washing; spotted towels; uncleaned fridges and a collection of undefined grime on the beds bug-net.
The place is simply not unclean or dirty, but looks like a deteriorating house that has a makeover/shape up long overdue.

It was close to the beach, it had a pool for cooling off in, our dog was welcome and the host Roberto was exceptional! We were invited to join him and his friends for a bbq with home cooked food. Delicious!

the host was really nice.
The breakfast was very good.
The lack of maintenance (like the mosquito’s net with wholes and fan really dirty, but really not a big deal).
The absence of key lock for the room leaving it completely open all day.

Breakfast was good and the host prepares nice dinner for 100 mex pesos. The property has charm but lacks of proper management, staff and cleanliness. I got a free ride to the bus terminal from the host.
The property lacked of proper cleaning in general, dorms, pools, common areas, etc. You will be stepping on dog shit multiple times per day. Also, the host lives there with his family and during my stay I was the only guest with my couple. The worst was my last day when I spent a whole day in the property without electricity with 30 plus degrees, no fans, no chargers’ no internet, it was a terrible experience. I’m still waiting for booking customer service to get back to me.

Roberto and his dog Marley were lovely and very friendly. The location is great, and breakfast was good. The Hammocks outside are cozy and the recommendations of Roberto were good. (Look out for Alberto and Christina, the two lizards living on the yard wall!)
The cleanliness could be better. Also a lot seems to be a bit of work in progress, which makes it a bit messy here and there.
You should be aware that there will be all sorts of animals around, since it is an rather open space!

Roberto is a great host, helping with everything (tours, pick-ups/drop-offs, cooking…)! Location right at the beach in La Punta is also fantastic, other beaches and the center of Puerto Escondido are really easy to reach by scooter/moto.
As you can see in the pictures, the guesthouse itself is simple but has everything you need!

The location is great - Punta.
The accommodation is exactly as in the pictures! You can enjoy the peace and quiet there, it's just a minute's walk to the beach and just a few minutes' walk to the bars and restaurants. Roberto, the host, is not only a passionate cook, you can also get lots of tips about the area from him (he speaks english).
I enjoyed staying in this guest house

Breakfast was excellent. Roberto is a legend, he even invited us to have lunch with him, which was great.
The place is close to the beach, the property has a pool and hammocks which is great for relaxing!

The host was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a lot of tips about the area of Puerto Escondido. He also invited us to eat his homemade food.
The location was wonderful, with ocean view and was very near the ocean itself.
The type of the house is not something we would usually go for. If you’re looking for a comfortable, 5-star hotel stay, then it’s not for you. But if you enjoy adventure and being close to nature, then it’s a great place. Yes, there were a lot of mosquitoes, but it’s a general case in this area. Roberto (the host) has a lot of tips on how to minimise their presence.

The host was nice but would not refund me.
The property was completely unacceptable especially for the price. There were gaping holes in the wall and I was immediately attacked non stop by mosquitoes with no way to escape them. The floor was dirty. The sheets were dirty. It was more like a tree house than a house to stay in. The fan was squeaking non stop and looked like it was going to fly off the unfinished dry wall ceiling. It was sweltering hot. There was a mosquito next not on the bed and when I went to inspect it, it had holes in it. I had to leave immediately!! I have traveled all over the world so am used to certain conditions but booked an Airbnb with full walls, ac, and breakfast for the same price. The host refused to refund me anytning even though I wasn’t even there an hour.

Roberto is a very kind man who makes sure you enjoy your time at La Punta. It is right at the beach. What I liked most is that he created everything himself, even the pool, which gives the place a lot of character. It is a very laid back atmosphere and you have no obligations. For me it was the most down to earth and relaxing stay in the past three weeks that I was in Mexico.
It is an ongoing process of improvement, but I actually enjoy it. Like we say in dutch: beetje pielen.

Ubicación fenomenal. Trato amable del dueño. Que aceptan mascotas. Buen internet.
