Castle-like accommodation with a beautiful connected historic Chapel
This is an upscale accommodation with all the amenities you’d find at home, with breathtaking views of the Rhein River valley. My wife, child, and I stayed in the top loft, which had one bedroom with a queen bed, a shared bathroom, and a studio with two single beds and connected kitchen. My sister, her husband and child were staying in similar quarters and beneath us, with not quite as nice a view, but still pretty good. There was another couple staying on the ground floor beneath my sister, though we never knew it. I think for the value it is high, as the host went out of his way to make extra accommodations: personally delivering bread / brödchen from the local bakery) each morning; having an honors system bar service for beer and drinks from the kitchen; access to launder your own clothes; access to wood to burn on the outdoor grill. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with an amazing assortment of flora and fauna with a cute goldfish pond. The property of the main house had a shared kitchen connected to a green grassy garden in the front, and a small rock garden in the rear to have your beer and brats, with a view of the valley. These amenities were in place to make you feel more at home! All the while, you are surrounded by orchards, hiking trails, horse and animal farms. The blackberries bushes were everywhere, and they were ripe and plentiful at the end of July. We had hand fulls of them on each of our outings. Waking up to tremendous views of the Rhein Valley in the morning while having our breakfast and coffee was a real treat. You are only about 10 mins from the city of Boppard, whether you use a cab or car, or hike down to it. I’ve run down to the river in 7 minutes flat, but I managed the hike back up in about 17 mins 30s twice. It’s only about 1k. The tap water was very good, and all the kitchens were fully stacked with pots / pans / cups / glasses, coffee makers, one with Nespresso capsules, and one for drip.
If you are staying in a lower floor, you’ll hear people walking upstairs, as the floors are thinner, or not sufficiently insulated. This wasn’t a problem for us but, if you have children and there are other guests below you, then you’ll have to make sure the children do not run around in the early hours.
We had intermittent rain, which was not controllable and didn’t bother us much.

Spacious room with rustic decor. Garden on grounds made for some nice pictures. The room has a peaceful secluded feeling.

Unique, peaceful, and serene retreat with beautiful views and a warm, welcoming host
This is a unique historic location just outside of Boppard - peaceful, surrounded by nature and farmland, with stunning views of Boppard from above. The host is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel like part of the family. Since the property is a bit removed from shops and markets, it's thoughtfully stocked with essentials, snacks, drinks, and even fresh bakery items each morning
The unique and peaceful location does come with a trade-off - you'll need a car to reach the property, as it's not within walking distance of Boppard.

Idyllic hideaway in one of the most beautiful parts of Germany
This is an absolute gem of a place perched up in the hills overlooking one of the most attractive stretches of the Rhine Valley. Quite simply, it's one of the best holiday bookings we have made in years. It was unfortunately a bit too chilly to properly enjoy and relax in the landscaped gardens, but Stefan - the host and owner - has done a remarkable job of modernising this old inn (and chapel). He provided us with everything we needed on arrival, was always available to help or answer questions throughout the stay - and our only regret was that we didn't book for longer!

Beautiful, quite, comfortable apartment
A beautiful, well-maintained villa in a quiet area, with nice views and every detail for a comfortable stay.
There is a small path in the forest along which you can go to the Boppard center, a bit steep but acceptable. When it was dark, taxi was the only option to go back to the appartment. But this little inconvenience is compensated by the tranquil location of the villa.

Exceeded expectations
The apartment and garden exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort, style and its surroundings. The views down the valley across to the Rhein are beautiful. The apartment kitchen was well equipped, the bed supremley comfortable and the huge bathroom fabulous. The shower was good but at 5ft11in my husband did struggle to use the rain shower, as it's quite low. There is another shower head alongside though, so not a deal breaker. We would recommend Altes Forsthaus without hesitation.

Very friendly staff, exceptional room, spacious and well thought-out bathroom, clean, and comfortable. Wonderful aesthetic, kitchen was fully stocked, lots of storage. Access to an amazing garden.
Location is up a little hike so with luggage, a taxi is needed and the address isn't the easiest to find. The showerhead was a little low. Otherwise a fabulous stay.

Heerlijk tot rust gekomen!
Geweldige gastheer, super gastvrij. Wij kwamen ‘s avonds pas aan maar we werden uiterst vriendelijk ontvangen met een gratis fles wijn. De locatie is prachtig bovenop een berg. We hebben een ronleiding gehad door alle beschikbare kamers/ appartementen en ze zijn allemaal prachtig ingericht met veel oog voor detail. Onze kamer was op de begane grond van het hoofdgebouw. We hadden een openhaard en vrij uitzicht op het dorp onderaan de berg.
Het enige nadeel is dat de badkamer zich verderop in de gang bevindt. Dit staat duidelijk aangegeven en wisten we van te voren. Er zijn ook badjassen beschikbaar.

Entspannte Tage in wunderbarem Ambiente.
Hoch über Boppard, umgeben von Wald, Wiesen und Weiden erwartete uns das "Farmhouse", gelegen in einem parkähnlichen großen Garten mit einem idyllischen Teich mittendrin. Freundlich empfangen wurden wir von Gastgeber Stefan, zur Begrüßung stand eine Flasche Sekt aus regionalem Anbau bereit. Innen dominieren freigelegtes Fachwerk und hochwertiges Mobilar. In der offenen Küche fehlt es an nichts, die Fenster in einem der Schlafzimmer mit sehr guten Betten öffnen den Blick auf den angrenzenden Wald, vor den großen Terrassentüren mit Sprossenfenstern leuchtet jetzt im Herbst die rote, gelbe und grüne Flora. Es gibt offene Feuerschalen, etliche Liegen, Tische und Stühle rund ums Haus. Dieses kleine Paradies krönt eine eigene Kapelle, Haupthaus ist das Alte Forsthaus in wunderbarer Fachwerkbauweise. Man muss dieses Ensemble gesehen haben, es ist einzigartig. Wir hatten 4 entspannte Tage in einer Umgebung, die das zeitweise schlechtere Wetter vergessen ließ, bevor sich die Landschaft des MIttelrheins mit ihren Bergen, Burgen, märchenhaften Stätdtchen und Wanderwegen - sogar einen moderaten Klettersteig gibt es in Boppard - wieder im strahlenden Herbstlicht zeigte. Für uns wird es künftig das Alte Forsthaus sein, wenn uns die Wanderlust wieder an den Rhein führt.

Tolles Ambiente in hervorragender Lage. Absolut empfehlenswert
Es handelt sich um ein traumhaftes Anwesen in wunderschöner Lage. Alle Zimmer und Wohnungen haben eine sehr hochwertige Ausstattung und sind sehr sauber. Das Gelände ist in einem hervorragend gepflegtem Zustand. Der Besitzer ist total freundlich und gibt tolle Tipps. Er ist hilfsbereit und sogar unsere Rückfahrt vom Weinfest für uns organisiert.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft mit Liebe zum Detail
Hoch über dem Rheintal trifft man auf ein wunderschönes Fachwerkhaus mit großem hellen Wintergarten, sehr gemütlich und stilvollen Zimmern mit Blick nach draußen auf den traumhaften Garten mit weiteren schönen kleineren Unterkünften. Die kleine Kapelle direkt am Haus ist nochmal was ganz einmaliges. Der sympatische Gastgeber sorgt für bestes Wohlempfinden. Pferde und Ziegen im Umfeld tragen auch dazu bei.
Wer diesen englisch anmutenden behaglich gemütlichen Stil in überwiegend grünen und weißen Farben mag, dem kann ich das "alte Forsthaus" wärmstens empfehlen

Ruhige malerische Lage, geräumiges Apartment, sehr stil- und liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr schöner Außenbereich, wo man sich tagsüber entspannen und abends mit Freunden zum gemeinsamen Essen treffen kann, wunderschöne Kapelle im Haus und nicht zuletzt der ausgezeichnete Gastgeber, der uns sofort das Gefühl, sehr willkommen zu sein, vermittelt und während des ganzen Aufenthalts sich sehr um uns gekümmert hat - vielen Dank für alles, Stefan! Wir haben jede Minute hier genoßen und kommen sicher wieder!

Eine ganz wundervolle Anlage, absolut stilsicher eingerichtet und unfassbar gepflegt. Wir haben es sehr genossen, auch durch die aufmerksamen Gastgeber und Mitarbeiter, bei denen man stets spürte, dass man willkommen war. Die Lage war herrlich und als i-Tüpfelchen gab es noch eine hauseigene, historische Kapelle. Hier macht ein Regentag nichts aus, man lässt einfach die Seele baumeln und geniesst das Ambiente. Hoffentlich auf bald ...

Heel idyllisch, rustig gelegen mooi huis en tuin in een mooi groen kader met vriendelijke gastheer.
Het zou gemakkelijker zijn dat ontbijt aangeboden wordt zodat je er zelf niet moet voor zorgen.
Het wandelpad naar het dorp wordt weinig gebruikt waardoor het ook niet zo goed onderhouden is.
Is vrij steil en op +- een 1/2 uurtje van het centrum van Boppard. De meeste logés nemen de wagen om naar het dorp te gaan.

De kamer was prachtig. Grote mooie tuin met voldoende zit en zon mogelijkheden. De eigenaar was behulpzaam en vriendelijk
Het huis is oud, de vloeren waren van hout en dus erg gehorig. Er zijn kamers boven en onder. Onze kamer was de enige waar de badkamer en wc buiten de kamer lagen. Je moest over een publieke gang, langs de voordeur om er te komen.
