The Best View and Neighborhood in Cartagena

We've stayed in Castillogrande several times and this apartment was by far our favorite place. The perfect location close to everything but yet far enough away from the crowds and noise. The views were stunning with lots of activities aactivity

We loved Gregg’s apartment! It couldn't be more comfortable in every way, or Gregg more responsive and helpful. The balcony overlooking the bay was a small slice of paradise - quiet, private, shaded, with a gentle breeze cooling it almost all day. This was very important because the heat humidity were intense. The rest of the apartment is air conditioned and furnished in a style consistent with the lovely architecture, the kitchen very well equipped for cooking (which we do), grocery shopping nearby, each bedroom comfortably separately air conditioned. We spent most of our two weeks in Cartagena in the apartment, because an injury kept us from visiting the city (only a short Uber ride away). Though unable to explore, the bay was fascinating, a constant source of interest. Directly across from us was a working harbour where the container and cruise ships docked, and small boats, either taxis, or pleasure craft went busily about all day. Some with tourists on board played music continuously and loudly in the early evening hours. That was not so quiet, but it was always over by 10:30 or so.The building is very quiet, well kept, the service people friendly and helpful, the two small pools great for cooling off, though lightly used. Altogether our stay was terrific, given we were confined by an unfortunate injury which kept us from exploring the city. For those who can and do explore, it’s a perfect, cool and quiet home to relax in after outings.

For the typical rental in this area, this place is unique, homey comfortable, and architecturally beautiful. You have a big duplex apartment with ample living space indoors and an exceptional private terrace overlooking the bay. A fully stocked workable kitchen. Add to the personal space inside, you have the use of the pool which is surprisingly private and perfect for an afternoon of cool relaxation. Second visit done and third to come!!!

We had a long stay in Castillogrande in this beautiful apartment, and we could not have hoped for a better apartment and location. The whole building and the apartment have so much character, it really felt like you were in a special spot. Castillogrande is full of modern condos which (and we visited a few as have friends in the area) all look the same - white blank canvases with very little soul. Balcones is a truly unique building, with a lot of soul, and we felt very lucky to be there. The apartment itself was perfect for our family of four, it had everything we needed, quiet and friendly neighbours, and Gregg was so responsive and helpful throughout. If you are looking for a quieter location away from the bustle of centro, this is really the perfect spot. 10 min Uber from centro, 10 min walk from bocagrande. We would highly recommend this lovely apartment.
