The location was ideal

No garden which was a pain , I booked a garden property as I have dogs so this was a negative , a bit annoying

Excellent location, very convenient for Bakewell by foot. The cottage is well equipped with good internet coverage and good entertainment both digital and old fashioned games. Good kitchen facilities and equipment, all in all very comfortable. effective heating thermostat made it easy to turn the heating on and off when needed.

Tea towels would have been nice, we had to purchase some from one of the local charity shops. The house is on fairly steep lane but it is not a problem if you are reasonably active. As mentioned in other reviews the bins were full and we had to cram our rubbish in them but it was not impossible. We found the shower a little temperamental but consoled ourselves with the fact that thermal shock is healthy😁

Great location to walk into Bakewell, clean property and very comfortable bed,

The two bins at the side of the property were completely full when we arrived , and were never emptied during our ten days stay. we emailed Sykes cottages about this problem but they never bothered to reply to us. Also the outside light by the stairs was not working, and it is very dark walking up the stairs to the front door.

Spotlessly clean house. Very comfortable and homely. Great communication from the owner. Lovely walk into Bakewell in approx 5 minutes. This is a fabulous little town. Amazing surrounding countryside as you would expect from the Peak District.

Be mindful if any of your party has mobility issues as you can't park outside the house (there is a designated parking space in another street) and there are quite a few steps
