We booked this place so we could take my uncle from Georgia to see Mackinac Island, the U.P., Lake Superior and of course the Bridge. we fell in love with the place the minute we walked in. The decor was just perfect for the house and had been well thought out. There were fresh flowers in a basket on the front door and on all the tables inside. Our host Annette actually lives across the street and was just wonderful. She saw us returning from a outing, came over introduced herself and made sure we didn't need anything. There was a small farmers market set up by the general store on Saturday with just wonderfully nice people. This house and the surroundings helped make this yet another memorable trip for my uncle. highly recommended.

We had a great time at at the Woodland Retreat. The home is comfortable and has plenty of room.
This was a girls trip to northern MI and the house provided us with a great place to relax after visiting restaurants and shopping in the area.
The house is in a beautiful setting and a short walk to the beach.
Only issue is the wifi is very spotty and at tubes we had no service.

We loved our stay! Six of us were in the area for a family wedding. The cottage is cozy, has a well equipped kitchen and is located in the cute and scenic village of Good Heart. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely stay at the Woodland Retreat. Annette was a wonderful and helpful host. She greeted us right away and was available when we needed anything. We had 4 adults and 2 kids in our group. The location is right on the Tunnel of Trees, which is gorgeous, and also the main road into Harbor Springs. We were within walking distance to the General Store, which is nice, but not open until 10am- a bummer if you need breakfast. (Annette saved us with a couple of eggs one morning so we could make pancakes.)
The best part was close access to the semi-private beaches which are an easy bike ride away done the road. We really enjoyed swimming in lake Michigan without dealing with crowds or having to go into town.
The home is very nicely decorated, but for those with active children, the number of breakables may be a concern. The master bedroom suite is spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The kitchen and outdoor spaces were functional, comfortable, and with very nice furniture and fire pit area.
There is a small building in the backyard which is separated by a small fence, and occupied by a renter, however they were quiet and not a problem for us.
My only complaint was that the double mattress was very uncomfortable. I think this is worth an upgrade.
