We recently stayed at the Lakefront “Rest‑Ashored” Home in Eddyville, KY, and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway. Our group was celebrating my wife’s birthday and her sister’s birthday, and everything about this home—from its private dock to its spacious layout—made it a truly memorable weekend.
From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the entire house boasts fresh, modern finishes that blend style with functionality.
We especially loved the beautiful bathroom renovations—each suite features separate tubs and glass‑enclosed showers, plus oversized closets that made unpacking a breeze. As an extra bonus, there’s a full kitchen both upstairs and down, which was a delightful surprise and gave us plenty of space to prep birthday breakfasts and snacks without ever feeling crowded.
One of the highlights was the covered dock access. We brought our boats and had no trouble tying up right at the shoreline. Although we didn’t fish this trip, the private dock access was a game‑changer for boating. We didn’t have to haul our gear out to a busy marina—just pull up to the covered dock, tie off, and drop everything at arm’s reach. When a sudden storm rolled through, it was such a relief to have a quick, secure spot to pull the boats straight off the water. And when we weren’t out on the water, the upper‑level deck became our favorite gathering spot.
The home’s generous floor plan gave our larger family plenty of room to spread out. The living areas, both indoors and out, flowed seamlessly, so we never felt cramped—even with a dozen of us celebrating together. Quiet nooks downstairs offered a bit of solitude for reading or quiet conversation, while the open kitchen/dining area was perfect for group meals and toasts.
We also loved having our own ice machine - probably saved around a grand on ice this trip!! :-)
The host deserves special mention—she was incredibly responsive, promptly answering all of our questions by email and accommodating our needs with a friendly, helpful attitude. It made the entire booking and stay seamless.
All in all, Rest‑Ashored is the perfect lakefront escape. If you’re planning a family celebration or a laid‑back gathering with friends, you’ll find every comfort and convenience here. We can’t wait to return!

Property was awesome! Home was BEAUTIFUL! Host was extremely helpful and very kind. We made so many memories with our grandkids .
There was so much to do! We went swimming, fishing, roasted s’mores , played MANY games, watched movies and enjoyed the hot tub .
House was much bigger than we expected !! Would definitely book here again 😊

Our stay at Rest Ashored could not have been better. The house is so well equipped and clean, we would definitely go there again. Katy was very prompt and so helpful with answering any of my questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The location is so convenient to where we live in Nashville that it is quick and easy to get away from daily stress without extended or complicated travel. When we get there, I know everything will be well-appointed and welcoming. The new high-speed EV charging is wonderful!! As an EV-driver, I'm especially appreciative of the fast-charge.
One of my favorite things is sitting on the deck, looking at the lake, enjoying the beautiful sunsets, and listening to nature (birds in the AM, crickets in the PM). I enjoy that it's far enough out to view the stars and I love the new fire stove they added near the shore!!
I love staying here because the house has everything we need and then some! We like to have a leisurely morning and make brunch on the propane griddle and relax on the deck or in the living room. This kitchen has more supplies and utensils than my kitchen at home--it's a cook's dream!! Great pans, knives, dishes, utensils, cutting boards, mixing bowls, measuring cups, etc. Some places you have to bring your own or be creative, but not Rest Ashored :) With 2 refrigerators, there's plenty of space, too!
We enjoyed football and movies in the screening room (complete with popcorn!) and even tried out the poker/game table in the game room. I'm continually impressed with the selection of games and puzzles available here.
As always, the bedrooms are roomy and comfortable with lots of pillows. There are plenty of rooms and space so I can go to bed "early" and my night-owl-husband can stay up without keeping the house awake. I really appreciate the carts in the bathrooms that extend the counter space and give everyone a place for their toiletries without fighting over counter space as well as the extra towel racks with lots of towels!
I planned to enjoy the hot tub, as I have on previous visits, but ran out of time. That goes on the list for next time! We are return guests of Rest Ashored and will definitely be back again!!
