We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet catskills getaway! It is 15 mins from Plattekill mountain (7.9 miles… it says somewhere it’s 3 miles but that’s “as the crow flies”). The house is well equipped and spotlessly clean! The area is quiet and rural. But that means the stars at night are amazing!!! It is at least 15 minutes to Margaretville (food shopping, Main Street and ice cream) and 15-20 mins to Roxbury (wonderful wine store and some restaurants), which for us was close enough for comfort but far enough for a quiet getaway. The property is downslopes in the back to a sweet little brook you can listen to from the deck. I just wished there was a bit of instructions regarding the fireplace- sounds common sense but we weren’t used to it and it took awhile to figure out what all the levers were for so we were able to enjoy the fire. (Firewood was available in the grocery store in Margaretville). I especially enjoyed the bottle of white wine left for us (which we enjoyed then paid it forward and got another bottle for the next guest). My only other wish was for a little more counter space or a table in the bathroom. All in all 5 stars!

Great opportunity to tuck away in the woods for a few days of peace, quiet and a chance to recharge. From the mountain views and privacy to the beautiful fireplace and cozy feel, this property was just what we needed for a girls' weekend.

We had a wonderful stay at this small, very clean, well appointed house. The hosts went out of their way to address concerns we had before our stay and were very responsive to any questions. We were not sure how our family of five would manage with only one bathroom but it was fine. The set up was inviting with a fun selection of books and games- and the tap water was quite amazingly delicious.
Getting out of the city to this remote, very quiet and cozy home was truly rejuvenating!

We were so pleased with this private, very clean, and small house to get away to. The owners went out of their way to promptly address any concerns we had before we arrived and were generally very responsive. We were prepared to have the five of us share one bathroom but it all worked out fine.
It really was cozy with small details, and everything we needed The layout was very well placed.
The price was reasonable and we would come back.
