Six of us spent 3 nights and parts of 4 days at this lovely home located on the waterfront of Agate Passage. The house was just perfect for our group - each couple had their own bedroom and the common area was conducive to family cooking, eating and conversation. We set up the card table as a jigsaw puzzle area and the pool table facilitated some spirited competition. The highlight was the deck and the view it afforded of the waterfront. We saw seals, heron, bald eagle and on two occasions we were treated to orca whale sightings.
We enjoyed reading of the property's history, being in the family since the early 1900's and the many historic photos.
And the property is located almost equidistant from Bainbridge and Poulsbo - and we made trips to each. Another nearby treat is the Fay Bainbridge Park with its large expanse of walkable beach.
All in all, a wonderful time and we hope to have a chance to return

So happy to be able to stay for the weekend. Was just me and my best friend but the house has FOUR bedrooms, so it can sleep 8 and the total amount paid per night is really affordable if it’s two couple. Location was in lush forests, and the house is perched over a nice quiet beach and waterfront. You can definitely get a nice tan on the beach littered by bleached cam shells, and the water is clear! Access to the beautiful beach is by a set of wood stairs that have driftwood type of rails. Inside the house, AWESOME and cozy! We played on the pool table while the wood fireplace was going. (The house has heat, but you can’t beat a fireplace!) kitchen is completely stocked, bathrooms were supplied with shampoo/body wash. Loved the water view rooms and wrap around porches with chairs to watch the sunset with wine. I loved cooking in the kitchen. We never went to any restaurants because it’s nicer to cook at home. And a few stairs down, they have an outdoor firepit! The house also has a hot tub inside but we were too busy chilling on the big comfy couch watching movies. The large screen TV lost its internet, but the house WiFi was running and we just used our laptop to project Netflix to the large screen TV.
We did visit the Japanese Internment camp memorial, a winery and bought oysters to grill on the BBQ. It’s very quiet and peaceful at the house but the island has many things to do, but for us the highlight was the beach. (And of course, the house!) The owner and property manager were kind and very responsive to any texts we sent for questions.

We loved the place. Walks on the beach, great views from the deck and room for all six of us. Centrally located with a very private feel. We would absolutely stay here again!

This property is clearly owned by a person that is an older person and doesn’t seem to care that when a property is held out for rental that it should be safe and updated. There are many many slipping hazards on this property. The interior and exterior are very old and not maintained. Based on the personal effects in the property it is clear that it is a family home and not necessarily ready for paying customers. Overgrown areas, mismatched furniture, Old linens, poor heating, etc. It is fine to rent a property such as this, but it should be clear what you are getting for your dollar. When I leave my own home, I expect a setting equal to or better than my own home. This place was not. I googled the estimated value of this property, there is ZERO reason that a property in the location that it is to not be updated. The last update must have been in the late 70s. Again, it’s fine to leave the property the way it is, but I would appreciate a proper warning. No window coverings on the bathrooms. The outside decks are a slipping hazard. No lighting down to the shore. Stairs to the shore a slipping hazard and overgrown. This property is not something is not something you would ever go back to

Our group of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids) had a wonderful time on Bainbridge island. This house met all of our needs. It was only 14 minutes from the ferry terminal and downtown area. But, being on the north end of the island with a very long driveway it felt many miles away. It was a lovely place to relax and unwind for a week. My kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the fire at night and skipping rocks on the water during the day. We saw otters and bald eagles and all sorts of other wild life.
We took the ferry to Seattle one day, leaving the car at the ferry terminal on Bainbridge. Seattle without a car is so much better than Seattle with a car!
We also drove to Rainier for a day. It was a long day since Rainier National Park is 2 hours from this house. But, definitely doable. Olympic NP (Port Angeles/Hurricane Ridge) is closer and would also be a great day trip.
I would definitely recommend this house to a family/group looking for a quiet getaway.

The view was excellent and we saw eagles and sea lions playing in the water. There was a constant parade of boats in Agate Pass.
But, the property is very dated and needs some improvement. There were several unsafe features. The upper balcony was rotted and a sign was posted to stay off the balcony. A baluster for the stairs was missing so a child could fall through. The teflon pans were scratched so if you cooked you would be consuming teflon.
Other annoyances included: The dishwasher was situated so that the door could not open completely. Several of the windows facing the water were fogged obscuring the view. The hand rail for the steps to the beach was not sturdy, making it precarious to go down to the beach. The gas grill did not work and was very dirty. The sheer curtains in the primary provided no privacy from the main living room.
We will look for a nicer property the next time we book, but again the location was excellent.

The stay was extremely poor for paying $1400 over 2 days.
The bannister was completely broken upon check-in. We had small children with us and it was a significant safety hazard. The property managers arrived about 30 mins after we arrived but it was unacceptable that we were not informed of the issue. It was a significant health and safety issue, and we were fortunate that our 4-year old caught herself before falling over.
The power upstairs was out. We could not put our baby to sleep and when the electrician did arrive, he kept going into the bedroom where we were trying to put him to sleep. We were forced to take the kids out of the house due to the bannister and power issues which was a terrible experience. We came back to the house at 6pm once all the repairs were completed.
The property managers were not wearing masks and walked right into the house. I’m sure you know how incredibly unsafe that is for both them and us. They did eventually get masks from the car but were just sitting upstairs in our house. Again, not the experience we were looking for. They also made comments like “Oh, that screen door has been broken since the 70s”, and “stuff is broken, what’s new”.
The BBQ grill was filthy and rusted. It took us quite a while to clean it but surely that is something the cleaners should be doing.
We appreciate that things get damaged but performing repairs after guests check in, while not wearing masks, and acting irresponsibly while doing so is surely unacceptable.

Comfy large house with lots of character. It's secluded and right on the water, which we were looking for. We also wanted to use the boat, but there were no life jackets so we ended up going to the Waterfront Park and renting kayaks there. If you have any mobility issues the numerous stairs and obstacles (tree trunk) would make the beach and water unobtainable, so that's something to consider. When we arrived I needed to finish laundry, which isn't a huge deal, but we ran out of laundry soap and I needed to buy more in town to do our own. The oven smoked a lot so it really needed cleaned out, and the garbage cans were full when we arrived, so we had to keep the garbage in the kitchen. I'm not sure I would rent here again for those reasons.
Manager's Response:
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I assure you that we take any issues our customers experience very seriously, and we will be looking into how best to address this problem.
Best,
