We visited this wonderful hidden gem in December of 2021 and made it our home base for visiting relatives in WV and VA. With four children in the teen to preteen ages, my husband and I prefer staying in places where we can spread out and relax. This cabin was perfect! Our girls took over the loft bedrooms with their own bathroom, while our son got his own room (with a bathroom just across the hallway) on the main floor. Of course, my husband and I took over the master suite. Now for the really important parts of the review...the cleanliness of this cabin was superb. I've stayed in several VRBO homes and, and this one beats every one. The amenities were also very high level. Two separate heating/cooling zones make it easy to find comfortable temperatures. Plenty of hot water was available for multiple consecutive showers (this is critical with kids). The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, utensils, and even an array of spices. All appliances were recent models. The kids enjoyed the puzzles and games provided as well. Having only one television in the living room area was not a problem, as we were in the area to spend time with family anyway. The same could be said for lack of Wi-Fi within the house....didn't miss it. We had decent cellular signal on the front porch to handle the handful of phone calls that we needed to make or texts that needed to be sent/received. We warned our families that we would be a bit "unplugged". The propane grill was appreciated for cooking steaks for dinner one night. We had the honor of breaking in the new fire ring as well with some s'mores. It was a very peaceful, quiet location. It just so happened that we didn't have any "neighbors" booking the little cottage or the carriage house nearby. The only company we saw were the acrobatic squirrels. Bill & Patricia stopped by once they saw we had arrived, and they let us know that they were available should we need them. Their home is within viewing distance up on a hill, but not close enough to feel any lack of privacy whatsoever. I would definitely not hesitate to stay at this wonderful cabin again.

This was a lovely place for a quick girls getaway! The cabin was incredibly well stocked. Very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time and just wished we could have spent another day or two!

We enjoyed this home and property very much on a fall getaway with our young children. The home is decorated beautifully and is cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the multiple areas outdoors to explore and relax. The owners are warm and pleasant. Would definitely enjoy returning to this property!
