This cabin is perfect. The property is gorgeous and the house has everything you need. It's a perfect balance of being a true cabin with some modern amenities. The place was spotless and there were fresh towels neatly available on each bed. The host was responsive with every inquiry and allowed me to communicate via text which was very helpful for me. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we plan to go back in the future.

Great stay at Riversong for two nights while in town for a wedding. Cabin provided all the necessities and although there where only two of us 7- 10 would have been comfortable. this place would be fantastic for a family reunion or getaway for a large group of friends. Additional bonus of this property is the access to the north river and the ice mountain trail system. Had a great Saturday morning hike to Raven Rock that provides great views of the area. We enjoyed the privacy of the gated community and the direct connection to nature.

Great place for the family. We had kids ranging from 8 to 12 and they had a blast playing on the river. Private setting. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend the hike up Ice Mountain and while a little strenuous, making it to Raven Rocks look out was well worth the trip. Feeling the natural "AC" coming from the small "cave" openings was awesome and very much welcomed on the return trip from the top. Nice gated community gave a good sense of security. Would recommend to others and definitely stay again.

Riversong is a large and luxurious cabin, with exposed hewn logs and a stone fireplace. The surrounding property is no less exquisite, a cleared forest beneath a canopy of mature trees. Beautiful. But is it worth two grand for a three-day weekend?
I absolutely don’t mind paying that kind of money for a cabin, even in West Virginia. But, it had better bring its A game. In our case, Riversong did not: un-swept porches, un-cleaned firepit, somebody’s dirty sweat socks left on the outdoor picnic table.
At 2:30 am on our first morning, the battery alert on a smoke alarm outside the bedrooms began chirping. The alarm was 12-feet up and thus unreachable. After much searching I found a six-foot ladder in a closet, and was able to turn it off. I emailed the property owner the following morning, and to his credit he responded promptly and pragmatically, suggesting to just turn it off for the weekend.
There are Nest security cameras on the outside of the property, which is understandable. The rental agreement points out that these are “not turned on when the house is occupied.” Also understandable. Except it didn’t appear that was the case for us. The green light beneath the camera was on—which according to Nest means “Your camera is turned on, connected to Wi-Fi, and is processing images in its view.” I asked the owner about this, and he responded that no one is looking at the Nest cams.
Then there’s the rental company, Evolve. I reserved the house through them nearly a year in advance. Yet when I went to make my final payment, I noticed the home was listing for hundreds less on VRBO. I called and asked what gives. They said their prices fluctuate “like those of an airline.” If I wanted to cancel the rez and re-book, we could try. Okay sure, so if I do that, what would be the new rate for my weekend? They said “we don’t have access to that information.” Oy. Never mind.
