Near Beaches & Dtwn Falmouth: Family Home w/ Deck

Our board retreat at this Cape house was everything we hoped for and more. The home was beautifully maintained, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for both relaxation and collaboration. Each room offered cozy touches that made us feel immediately at home, and the common spaces were perfect for group discussions and meals. The location was peaceful and scenic, giving us the space and serenity we needed to reflect, strategize, and connect as a team. Whether we were gathered around the large dining table, enjoying coffee on the porch, or taking walks along the nearby beach, the house served as the ideal setting for meaningful conversation and rejuvenation. The hosts were responsive, kind, and clearly care about creating a welcoming experience. Every detail was considered—from the well-equipped kitchen to the abundance of blankets and comfy spots to unwind. We left feeling refreshed, aligned, and grateful for such a wonderful environment. Highly recommend this home for any group retreat, team gathering, or restful escape on the Cape.

We had a wonderful stay at this location. This is the second time in a few years we have stayed at this home. The renovations are beautiful. The outside shower was out of order, however home was clean, close to beaches, quiet neighborhood. Friendly neighbors. Hoping to be back next year

We had a pleasant stay. The accommodations were as described. We had a small issue with trash and a few other things, but the Evolve team was very responsive and professional resolving them.

When we originally looked at this house, we reviewed the pictures closely online as we have been doing VRBO/AirBnB for 15 years. The property looked well maintained and felt comfortable that we would be able to park our 25ft boat/trailer and cars off the road. The property advertised off street parking for 6 vehicles. In addition, the description of property stated "fully equipped with all the comforts of home. step into vacation mode from the minute you arrive. The living room features sleek hardwood floors, plenty of seating"..The house advertised sleeping for 8, however, there was not enough seating for everyone, so we knew we needed to bring a folding table and chairs, No problem!  Upon arrival, property was overgrown and trees were hanging so low they scraped the top of my car, we were not able to park the truck, boat or additional car. We called the property manager and although an odd request, the manager was able to get owner approval and had the trees cut back the next day! Multiple garbage cans lined the property on the opposite side of the driveway and were partially filled. Garbage cans on the deck filled and stinky with baby diapers not wrapped. YUCK. We moved them and revealed a hole in the deck. We covered the hole with empty garbage cans for the time until we could figure something else out. We entered the house, the AC's were blasting AS WELL AS the heat. We turned the heat off and attempted to turn down the AC's, but there was an overpowering mildew/musty smell. So, the AC's stayed on. AC's were poorly installed and rattled. The batting used to fill the gap were too small, allowing bugs into the house. Sills had bugs, dust, and dirt. Found the linens split between 2 closets (1 updaters and 1 downstairs) Literally 8 towels and face cloths, 1 for each person.  1 set of sheets per bed. Will have to plan laundry as we are here for a month.  1 hand towel in the kitchen.   There was no hand soap in the master bathroom, and only 2 additional rolls of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towel. There were NO cleaning supplies except for dish soap for the kitchen sink and dishwasher. So purchased hand soap, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, paper towels, and toilet paper. Mildew/mold smell in master bathroom - we kept the fan on in the bathroom the entire stay. Great walk in shower, but the cloth shower curtain did not keep water contained and with a small bath mat on a WOOD FLOOR, there was plenty of moisture. On either side of the shower wall, there is what appears to be mold, the shower curtain was pink/orange with mildew towards the bottom and the bath mat was dripping wet on the wood floor. Bathmat went and got immediately washed/dried. The 2nd bathroom was small, but not as bad as the master bathroom. No where to put towels for the 8 people. Not enough places to hang towels or place personal items for the number of people who were expected to use the bathrooms. House surfaces were clean, but there were spiders, ants and silverfish (BUGS) everywhere. The 1 broom in the house was in the basement covered in spiderwebs and dead spiders. There were three piles of dead bugs/spiders in the basement, just left there. EEEEWWWW. Could not clean up as there was not a single dust pan or way to pick up the piles. Needless to stay, we did NOT spend much time in the basement. For the entire month that we rented the house, we were killing spiders daily. My husband ended up getting a few spider bites, which was not pleasant to deal with during our month-long vacation. The house advertised the following: "Be sure to load up on fresh wholesale seafood from Green Pond Fish Market to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen! Stainless steel appliances and helpful kitchen tools are sure to make your lobster dinner a success! Bring the feast to the deck and dine al fresco:.  HA, I could not even make a pasta dinner with the pans provided. I had to boil pasta in 2 pots as there was not one big enough for a box of pasta, and you are advertising we can prepare a lobster dinner.  The large red sleep sofa was broken, and uncomfortable to sit on. The cushions kept sliding and sinking, and you had a hard board digging into the back of your leg. It was so heavy, we were not able to open it. The (2) off white side chairs were okay. We placed our own towels over the head pillow as they were dirty. Finally, the rug. It sheds. It is made of nautical rope and was impossible to vacuum, no broom to sweep up the debris from the rug. Very frustrating.  Upstairs there was a off-white rug with stains that clearly needed some attention. Rooms were good sizes and comfortable. AC in each room was wonderful, but not well installed. We chose this location as it was on a cul-de-sac. It was so QUIET compared to the last property we had been renting for the last 11 years. While sitting outside it was beautiful, peaceful. But, we noticed areas of concerns; 1) Deck furniture is broken, 2 of the 4 chairs you could not sit on as the webbing to hold the cushions were broken, no way to replace. The cushions are fabric and did not dry out daily and were green and smelly. 2) There was an electrical AND cable line buried under the dirt from the corner of the deck next to the grill and nailed to a tree across the yard. HELLO.....who buries wire under dirt with NO insulating piping. The trailer was metal, one wrong placement and... 3) Shingles are missing from the roof. We were there during 2 storms, Henri and Ida. Let's just say, the bedroom under the missing tiles was starting to show signs of leaking. We reported. 4) Outdoor shower does not work. Still not fixed after several prior reviews reporting. 5) Plenty of outdoor hoses, but no running water outside. All we wanted to do was rinse off sand and coolers outside. House rules require no shoes, but how can we clean ourselves off with no outside facilities? We eventually were able to figure out how to get water outside. We would say this served our basic purpose to sleep and enjoy the outdoors, but recommend much needed cleaning, pest control, and overall maintenance. Expensive for the condition and issues. Would we stay again? Yes, if all issues were resolved. The fact that other reviews mentioned the same issues, not going to hold my breath.
