The Polly vacation home is a completely renovated country house located in the North Sea spa town of Dornum-Dornumersiel, right next to the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2009. The vacation home is situated in an excellent, very quiet residential area in the southern part of the charming town of Dornum. It’s located on a small side street with no through traffic, yet offers ideal access to all directions, whether by car or bicycle. The 840-square-meter garden, with its two wooden decks, is perfect for relaxing. One terrace is accessible directly from the kitchen, and the second directly from the living room. You’ll also find a small barbecue area there. A large lawn is also available for your use. You can park 3 cars right next to the house, with additional parking spaces in front of the house. There’s space for your bicycles in the adjoining room. The town of Dornum invites you to take a leisurely stroll through its historic center. Just a short walk away, you’ll discover centuries-old East Frisian history along with a wonderful cultural and tourist program. In addition to today’s moated castle and the ruins of Westerburg Castle, the magnificent church with its Holy Organ, the post mill, the Oma Freese Huus, and the synagogue with the Jewish cemetery, numerous historic buildings and natural landmarks give the Dornum Estate its unmistakable character. Small shops invite you to browse and shop. Enjoy your vacation, take it easy, and look forward to a wonderful day in the Herrlichkeit Dornum. It’s about 4 kilometers from the house to Dornumsiel. A very well-signposted network of bike paths leads you to almost every town. The town center, with its historic heart, is about 1,000 meters away; here you’ll find Aldi, Netto, and an Edeka supermarket, as well as two bakeries. Here you’ll find the historic castle, the post mill dating from 1628, the moated castle, and the historic church with its Holy organ, which invites you to enjoy evening organ music every Friday. The North Sea resort of Dornumersiel is located directly on the North Sea coast, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the offshore islands of Baltrum and Langeoog. Everything is close together and easily accessible on foot: the sandy and grassy beach with a children’s playground, soccer and beach volleyball fields, a surfing zone, and a kite-flying area; the heated seawater outdoor pool; the campground on the North Sea beach; and the fishing boat and yacht harbor. The heart of Dornumer Siel is the idyllic Mahlbusen reservoir, which invites visitors to take a stroll, go boating, and fish. SeeparkWest, a modern themed spa park, charmingly connects the fishing village with the harbor and beach area. In the village itself, there are restaurants and cafés serving regional delicacies such as fish, salt marsh veal, lamb, homemade East Frisian cake, and aromatic East Frisian tea. Neßmersiel is the smallest seaside resort on the East Frisian North Sea coast, offering a wide range of recreational activities for families, those seeking relaxation, and vacationers with dogs. The ferry terminal to Baltrum, located about 1.5 km away, is the starting point for numerous mudflat hikes to the islands of Baltrum and Norderney. Sit back and take in the wonderful view—the observation deck at the harbor invites you to do just that, offering a magnificent panoramic view of the North Sea and the East Frisian islands of Norderney, Baltrum, and Langeoog. In the village itself, you’ll find restaurants, a seasonal supermarket, bike rentals, and fishing opportunities. For dining, a variety of restaurants on Dorfstraße offer fresh fish and other regional dishes.
