Casa al Vico

I had a lovely stay here in Taormina and was particularly grateful for how smoothly everything was arranged, especially as this was a last-minute booking. The owner was extremely accommodating, arranged to meet me at the property and was there waiting for me on arrival. They took the time to show me around and explain everything, which was much appreciated. The accommodation itself was lovely: beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is tucked away on one of those charming little Italian streets, just off the main thoroughfare, so it feels peaceful and quiet while still being wonderfully central. It is only about a five-minute walk from Corso Umberto, Taormina’s main pedestrian street, with its lovely shops, restaurants and gelaterias. The location really couldn’t be better. The owner was also incredibly helpful and easy to contact via WhatsApp whenever I needed anything. They pointed me towards the local supermarket and offered useful recommendations, which made my stay all the more enjoyable. Excellent value for money, a lovely property and a very welcoming host. I would happily stay here again and would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Taormina!

Quirky, we liked the old building and the apartment over 2 floors. Kettle and coffee machine in full kitchen. Good air con in both bedroom and living room. Very clean, the host was helpful and sent video to show location of property. Good location which had a small supermarket and lots of restaurants. Interesting pedestrian walk into the centre of Taormina through shops and more bars

It was in a good location. It was quiet.

It needs significant renovation because of signs of water damage. Facilities are basic. On the second evening there was water coming out from under the stairs and it flooded most of the ground floor. We assume this was to do with the rain. We reported it, it was noted, and we sent videos as requested, but nothing was done. No one contacted us the following morning. That was the last we heard from the property owner. We were fine because we put everything upstairs but it certainly wasn’t ideal.
