The flat’s biggest selling points are its location and the patio. It’s very pleasant, especially in the evening. It’s very close to the city centre, yet it’s quiet and peaceful. Just a few steps from the flat is a well-stocked little shop, which is a big plus.

However, one thing left a bad impression… we didn’t feel welcome. After spending the whole night at the airport and on the plane, we couldn’t get into the flat until 3 pm. I spent 6 hours walking around Palermo with two children. I understand the rules, but I’d hoped things would be handled in a more humane way. Usually, on the last day, you get a farewell message and wishes for a safe journey home… but not this time. Our host also ignored us when we bumped into her out and about. It’s a bit of a shame. Unfortunately, it wasn’t clean 🙈 – there were black hairs on the stairs and the white floor. The first thing I did was start sweeping the flat because we could feel dust under our feet. I was surprised to find out that the dishwasher is included in the flat’s fittings but the dishwasher tablets aren’t… for the landlord, leaving 3 tablets is no cost at all, but for guests, buying a pack of tablets makes no sense. The batteries in the remote control weren’t working; I was told to swap them with another remote. Two rolls of toilet paper for three people over nine nights isn’t much either. These are minor details, and perhaps just my subjective opinion; it might not bother someone else, but in my case it left an unpleasant impression. (The sofa downstairs also needs replacing 🙈; I’m quite light, yet there was even a dent left in the mattress after I slept on it.)

Bellissimo appartamento! Punto forte il patio caratteristico e silenzioso nonostante l'appartamento si trovi in pieno centro di Palermo. Host super gentile e disponibile!

Location: Near old town- 20 minute walk to station-Airport bus shuttle stop 5 minutes walk away Space: 3 living /sleeping areas + kitchen + shower + toilet/ bathroom Facilities: Good easy accessible shower with plenty of room and hot water.

Cleanliness: The basic property was well thought out but dirty blocked basin and shower waste pipes clogged with scum and hair distracted from the apartment The plates and cutlery had to be dishwasher before use for some had food residue on them. Plenty of knives and forks but only 4 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon No kettle/ water glasses or normal size cups provided .We had to request these and they were provided Goodwill: limited-no paper kitchen towel provided Had to search for a lot of stuff Cooker: The induction hob caused a lot of frustration. The saucepans provided seemed to be an I inappropriate material for the hob and caused a lot of switching off. One window was insecure and blew open in storm.
